As someone that has a brother that fought in Afghanistan with NSW for 2 years, and also as someone who has a good friend that was a Marine Corps Scout Sniper in Ramadi for a tour, let me tell you this; In every conversation that I have had, at no time have they ever, ever come out in favor of torture or torture-like interrogation. They, the ones that actually have put their lives in danger- not just some fat ass right wing nutjobs on message boards- know that this kind of behavior will be used against them if they are captured. It may be anyways, but don't think the "enemy" isn't well appraised of our activity. Secondly, ask the men that interrogated the Nazi's what their best technique was. It wasn't torture. It was sitting down and talking to them over a period of weeks and getting to know them. Look it up if you don't believe it. Thirdly, when we abdicate our morals and adopt the techniques of our adversary, we have lost. Period. You might still have your H2, and your poorly built tract housing, your plasma screen TV, your overweight crotchfruit running amok.....But you have become what you are fighting. And no amount of doublespeak, false equivalencies, or fear-mongering is going to change that fact. For real. I suggest you take a long look at your ideology and beliefs. But I know you won't.
