thanks, Glenn,

for the link that details what actually was done to Al-Kidd. The AP story in our local paper says only that the lawsuit was filed in 2005 "claiming his civil rights were violated when he was detained as a material witness for two weeks in 2003."

The average reader will think "Two whole weeks? What's the big deal?"

my last word:

I'm not really trying to "explain" anything except that I find it a ludicrous proposition that two or three huge buildings could be wired for demolition and not one person knew about it, not one person involved has been found, etc etc. You'd think old David Griffin would have been able to dredge up a single shred of actual evidence (other than this silly nano-thermite stuff.)

Have you ever looked into what it actually takes to wire a 100 story building for demolition?

Light bulbs? Now there's something to laugh about.

simple answers to complex problems....

A huge airliner, filled with jet fuel (on its way across the country, remember) crashes into a 100 story building at around the 90th floor. A huge fireball is seen erupting from the site of impact. We can assume that almost immediately several floors, and everything in them, was engulfed in flames. We can assume that there were shock waves felt throughout the building, perhaps all the way to the basement.

With the building and everything in it on fire, it is not far-fetched to imagine that things were exploding all over the place.

As the fire spread and interior walls, desks, paper, computers, refrigerators, etc etc were consumed, the entire structure began to weaken. Finally, unable to support the floors above it, the building began to collapse.

As it did so, shock waves would have reverberated throughout the structure. Hmmm, wonder if they could have sounded like explosions?

Anyway, that's the way I remember it being explained, more or less.

For all the whining about "steel framed buildings never collapsing from fire," or whatever they keep bringing up, I would venture to guess that nothing like this has ever been duplicated with a building of exactly this sort of construction.

If LondonLad wants to imply that this catastrophic, unprecedented event can be imagined as simply as someone pouring sand onto a pile of sand, I think he is being naive. Likewise with the heat that can be reached by burning jet fuel. That wasn't the only thing on fire that day, and it seems simplistic to assume that the temperature might not have been higher. I believe there was some issue with the way the steel beams were clad, but it's been a while since I read anything about this.

I'd like to point out once again that what was going on in the twin towers was an extremely complex chain of events. But to imagine that SOMEONE was able to place expolsive charges in all those buildings, ready to be triggered at the moment that a plane hits them, defies common sense.

annoying?

MEEEEE????

Oh, I'm really hurt by that. Heh heh.

I LOL'd

..."Trouble with you story believers is that you don't know how to think properly. That's why they can pull the wool over your eyes time and time again..."""

Hey, LoLa, I bet you're a hoot down at the local pub. Do your mates subscribe to your theory, so you can all discuss the collected works of David Griffen (Amateur Sleuth and Man of God), quoting entire paragraphs to each other,

or do they roll their eyes, bend their heads, and stare into their pints with a look of resignation, embarrassment, and annoyance on their faces?

FREEEEE FAAALLLLllllllllll

And those dozens, nay hundreds, of workers employed by this "security firm" (heh heh) who planted all those explosive charges..........

have been....

DISAPPEARED.

Totally believable. Yeah.

you mean that

AJCalhoun is not using his real name?

thanks, AJCalhoun

Why do you sound like the voice of reason and LoLa sounds like he's jumping up and down in front of his computer shrieking free fall!! FREE FALL!!!! FREEEEEE FAAAALLLLLLLL

Free FAIL.

ah, crap

after vowing not to post again, I find the explanation from

sparkyVA about the probable, nay almost certain, production of thermite during the destruction of the twin towers, to be compelling, and I wish to thank him for his contribution, and before I can do that I find out

ZOMG it was a DIFFERENT thermite.

Well, I've done a bit of research myself and I still have to ask:

How the HELL did all those explosive charges get planted in all those steel girders and NO ONE NOTICED!!!!

EVidently the conspiracy theories do not extend to the HOW.

Thursday, August 27, 2009 12:21 PM

ok, ll, I'm convinced

some time in the days or weeks or even months, heck it might have been YEARS, SOMEONE carefully placed thousands of explosive charges in exactly the correct positions in three (or is it only two? No matter..) huge buildings in New York City so that, if and when a plane ever did impact the buildings, these charges would be set to go off and.. and.... THAT'S GOT TO BE HOW IT HAPPENED....

Now that is the last you will hear from me, so save your fingers.

londonlad, I don't know why I bother, but

There was a very good program on PBS that explained why the tons of jet fuel pouring down the interior elevator shaft thereby causing a huge fire in the buildings would so severely compromise the open steel structure that when the top began to fall, it readily crushed the floors beneath it and the entire building ended up in a pile of smoldering debris.

You clearly have your own sources, so I don't expect you to believe that at all.

By the way, are you one of those who claims that no plane hit the Pentagon or crashed into a field in Pennsylvania? I've never understood where those two planes ended up. The Twilight Zone?

To the others on this thread, sorry to respond to londonlad and thereby contribute to stimulating the nonsense that is undoubtedly coming, ad nauseum, but sometimes I can't help myself.
