Tabloidization of Salon
[Read the article: Obama's vetting problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Salon is just giving us the rumors that are already out there?
Most Salon readers are pretty high information. I think we hear the rumors. When the media reported Bill Clinton's issues with women, were they merely telling their readers, listeners and viewers what was out there? Or, were they adding to the echo effect, giving credence to every rumor coming down the pike.
When a "progressive" site like Salon repeats these stories it increases the credibility. I mean, why would a leftist site be repeating stories harmful to the Democratic nominee if there was "no there, there"?
We often say "don't feed the trolls". There's a reason for that. It allows them a measure of credibility.
Salon should stop feeding the right wing smear trolls.

ISn't a large part of high oil prices speculation?
[Read the article: Why McCain's gas tax proposal is a good idea]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I understand that there are high demands for energy, but I read that at one time only companies that used large amounts of oil (transportation and energy companies) could speculate on oil.
Now, banks and financial institutions can legally speculate on oil and have REALLY driven some of these prices.
And Phil Gramm, an economic advisor to McCain, is the one who snuck in the Enron loophole that allows all of this hidden speculation on oil.
Where's the Salon article on that?

Dear ex-Hillary fans who are showing their support for her by ignoring her call to support Obama and supporting McCain
[Read the article: Clinton asks her delegates to support Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is stolen from huffington post
First, I'd like to congratulate you. You've asked yourself WWJMD and you've decided to vote against your own interests and principles while furthering Senator McCain's. Before you're allowed on the band wagon, we are asking you to sign the following oath. A McCain presidency will mean different things for different people, so we have tailored the oaths accordingly.
The McCain Loyalty Oath for Women
I _______________ pledge to transfer my support from Hillary Clinton to John McCain. I agree to do all I can do to get McCain the vote. In order to achieve this noble goal I promise to support McCain's...
fight to overturn Roe v. Wade and my right to choose.
fight against equal pay for men and women.
opposition to providing low-income and uninsured women and families with health care services ranging from breast and cervical cancer screening to birth control.
opposition to sex education and support of abstinence-only education.
making birth control covered by insurance.
endorsement of women's rights more "in theory" than in practice.
pet name for his wife.
As a woman I promise to apply McCain's principles to my own life and vow to...
call myself and my female friends the C word.
picket abortion clinics.
not use contraceptives.
drink bleach so I don't catch HIV and drink Mountain due so I don't get pregnant.
give back part of my salary to male coworkers.
not vote, but pursue education and encourage my father/husband/brother male friends to vote for McCain.
Once McCain is elected, I will continue to support him and I will not complain about my losing my right to choose, and other reproductive freedoms. And I will continue to refrain from pursuing equality for women.

Some biographical reasons for a Clark VP
[Read the article: Clark: "What does John McCain really believe?"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]His roots are Jewish. Clark's great-grandfather was a Russian Jew who came to the United States to escape the Russian pogroms. Clark's original name was Wesley Kanne and he was born in Obama's hometown of Chicago.
Clark's father was a ward pol in Chicago and was a delegate at the 1932 Democratic convention that nominated Roosevelt.
When Clark's father died, his mother moved to Arkansas and he was later adopted by his stepfather Viktor Clark.
So let's see; Jewish for those Florida voters, born in Chicago to a political father with roots in the Democratic party, raised in Arkansas and has close ties to the Clintons.
Valedictorian of his class at West Point. Rhodes Scholar and graduated Oxford University with degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics. Attended the Command and General Staff College with a master's degree in military science.
All of this without even mentioning his stint as Supreme Commander of NATO and his kick-ass prosecution of the war in the Balkans, his support for women in combat and gays in the military.
To me, this seems like a no brainer.

Oh and I forgot
[Read the article: Clark: "What does John McCain really believe?"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]He was against going to war in Iraq and he's already been vetted to an extent by virtue of running in 2004.
Again, if someone was going to create the perfect VP this election year, what you'd come up with is Wes Clark.
