  • Very few are offended.

They were constantly told that they should be offended, but many saw the truth in Sen Obama's words.

Maybe it was because it appeared McCain and Clinton were teaming up on a Democrat.

Maybe, it was Mrs. Clinton's words that Democrats are seen as elitist; and that she Hillary Clinon, lately of Chappaqua, graduate of Wellesley College and Yale Law School, the former First Lady, Senator from Ney York, and reader of books during football games, is just the person to change that perception.

The amount of desperation it takes to parse "six shooters out of Obama's quip is terribly sad.

This is what the great Clinton campaign has come to?

The rhetorical equivalent of an alcoholic sucking beer out of an ashtray?

My 8 year old could read that remark and understand that Obama wasn't saying she hunts ducks with a six shooter.

It really is all over but the crying, isn't it?

  • Exhibit A

Why are you calling me a troll? What is your evidence?

Trolling: v.,n. 1. A series of electronic postings designed to attract predictable responses or flames.

  • Most of the disgust with the "debate"

[Read the article: The fallout from the Democratic debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

is pro Obama or Clinton. I didn't think the debate was biased against Obama, I simply thought they were issues most voters didn't care about. The people of PA, to whom the debate was supposed to inform; this is what they care about above all else? Flag pins and 1960's radicalism?

How many flags do you have festooned on your car windows?

How many ribbon magnets are on the trunk of your car?

Hah! I'm far more patriotic than you are.

Are these really the issues that Democrats care about?

Are these the issues Mrs. Clinton and her supporters care about most? From the posts here and the response from her campaign, apparently so.

Not Iraq, not Iran, not health care, not energy or food prices; but whether Obama is an elitist.

As if to say that Hillary Clinton is the answer to the Democratic Party's elitist image.

The debate was a travesty because it put its priority on gotcha issues that media types and pudits are interested in; not Super Delegates (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/18/us/politics/18dems.html?_r=2&hp&oref=slogin&oref=slogin) and certainly not the majority of Democratic voters.

That Mrs. Clinton and her supporters have finally found a debate format that they're comfotable with says far mor about them than Mr. Obama's electability.

these issues, unfortunately, *do* matter to voters

Every poll taken after each of these "scandals" have shown no damage done to Obama. Oddly enough, it has been Mrs. Clinton who has been hurt.

Unfortunately for you maybe, these issues *do not* matter to voters.

There is no evidence to suggest that it does. If you have it, then let's see it.

  • Most of the Media still treats Obama better than Mrs. Clinton

[Read the article: Debating the debate, complaining about complaining]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's what made the ABC debate seem so strange.

However, the media will NEVER treat the Clintons with respect.

They may treat all Democrats poorly, but most of the media seem to have a special need to bash the Clintons.

And of all the Democrats in recent cycles, Obama has been most treated like a Republican from the MSM.

Despite the debate on ABC, they STILL treat Obama like he's the second coming of Saint Reagan.

Which leaves me to wonder, why in the hell would we nominate someone we know for a fact the MSM is going to absolutely maul?

ABC, Fox, Limbaugh, Buchanan and Scarborough may love Clinton now (Scarborogh calls her his girlfriend) but that will quickly change once she has the nomination. They are for her in the hopes of splitting the Democratic party.

So why nominate Clinton and fight McCain with one media hand behind our backs?

The media may treat McCain better fairer than Obama, but they'll definately slime Clinton, each and every day.

I began supporting Obama, not because I think Obama is the greatest, but while I'm unsure uf Obama can win in November, I know Clinton can't. And I know her coattails will be very short. We need to expand majorities in Congress and her name at the top of the ticket hurts down ticket Democrats.

They don't call them the "Clinton Rules" for nothing.

  • Why is Joan Walsh always about 3 days behind in her stories?

[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is she waiting for a Clinton gaff (moveon smear) to recycle an anti-Obama story?

I've absolutley had it with Salon. I don't expect every news source I read to parrot my own beliefs, but I certainly don't want to financially support an outlet that treats me like an idiot.

Let Hillary Clinton supporters pay for Salon and see how long it lasts.

I don't expect all Obama all the time, I would just prefer not to pay treated like an moron.

  • How does Hillary handle the media better?

[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Where is the evidence? She HASN'T been able to respond to the attacks. It's exactly why she is going to lose the nomination.

Earlier, Hillary Clinton lead every other Democrat with every single demographic, including African Americans.

How did the best known name in Democratic politics, the wife of the most beloved Democrat since Roosevlet manage to piss away the nomination?

And if Hillary Clinton can't win a Democratic nomination, out right, why in the hell should anyone think she could win in the general election. In the general it will be far tougher when the majority of the electorate thinks she's a fraud?

Her plan, hobble Obama under the guise of toughening him up. So they say Obama looks weak because he won't get in the mud with her. Has it never occured to her supporters that Obama will not throw the "kitchen sink" at Mrs. Clinton because we need to come together in the fall?

I've come to the conclusion that Mrs. Clinton now feels that if she doesn't win the nomination, no Democrat will win in November.

And Joan Walsh is part of this fifth column.
