Glenn, I say this with trepidation

but when you write:

This plea that we all just forget about the unpleasant past -- stop trying to figure out who was responsible for the Iraq War -- has become the principal self-defense weapon of the pro-war political establishment. That's their only hope for evading responsibility for what they've done.

I must respond that some of us feel quite strongly that Obama's appeal to Unity must mean, in practice, exactly what you so rightly decry here:

A lack of accountability.

and that there's simply no way, operationally, that Unity can mean anything else. Just saying.
