"I see a window and I want to paint it black..."
[Read the article: The racial divide, then and now]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Clintons have painted that window black.
When Obama won snowy white Iowa there was almost a sense of relief that the country had taken a big step forward. The Clintons went immediately on the attack and used race in truly divisive way. The Clintons have used race in the same way the Republicans use fear.
It may be a great plan to win the nomination (obviously its working), but the Clintons are doing horrible harm to the Democratc party.
The Republicans use right wing evangelicals the same way Democrats use blacks and gays. They're dependable votes that only require lip service. After the campaign the clintons have waged it wouldn't be hard for the Republicans to woo black voters away. In November the Clintons may not think it matters if black voters don't support them, but they haven't thought of the consequences of black voters looking to the Republicans.
The Clintons aren't just setting the Democrats up for a loss in November, they may be mortally wounding the Party.

Once again its all about the Clintons
[Read the article: Pre-spinning South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Whether it was a good idea or a bad idea to unseat those delegates, it was agreed to by all parties. Now, once again, its all about the Clintons. I think the country is getting to over-saturation point with them already. At this rate I think Huckabee would beat her in the general election.

The media's role has been nothing but the Clinton's enablers
[Read the article: My sanest conversation on TV, ever]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Since the moment Obama won the the Iowa caucus we've been subjected to nothing but a sickening circus of CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON. The media has breathlessly followed the Clintons down whatever slimey path they chose. There has been no discussion of issues at all...just CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON. And if the topic changes, rest assured the clintons forced their way back into the headlines.

24% is better than the 10% suggested by the polls
[Read the article: Nets call it for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Edwards comes in second there;s no way the clintons can put a good spin on it...watch for them to deliver a real low blow.

And I guess Bill went on for 75 minutes wherever he was tonight
[Read the article: An old-fashioned thumpin' in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and apparently talked about himself the whole while.
Its true, this isn't over by a long shot, but the Clinton's have pretty much sealed their fate as far as the general election goes. If she gets the nomination it will be a disaster for the Democratic party. My guess is that we will see more and more major figures in the party abandon them. Of course that won't stop the Clintons.
If she doesn't get the nomination I wouldn't be shocked if she ran as an independent.

On no, Bill said something mean to Barack
[Read the article: Bill Clinton: The Chris Matthews of South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I wish he WOULD say something mean to Barack. At least that would take some balls. Its the slimy innuendo that the Clinton's are engaging in that is despicable. Their message is always clear, but they always leave themselves that disingenuous wiggle room to act "innocent." Its passive/aggressive bullshit, and its sleazy and cowardly. But the Clintons have always existed in that world of smelly places you find when you turn over a rock. I don't care what the Republicans would throw at Obama. The shit they throw is one of the reasons I won't vote for Republicans. Its not any more attractive if Democrats resort to it.
I think, sadly, the Clintons will lock the nomination up on February 5 (or very very close). As soon as that happens you'll hear the air go out of the balloon. There will be little excitement for their campaign. Opinion is turning against the Clintons and their tactics. If the glut of primaries being held on February 5 were a few weeks later, I have a feeling the results would have been in Obama's favor.

re: Kathleen Kennedy
[Read the article: An old-fashioned thumpin' in South Carolina]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So the Clinton's are being endorsed by the Kennedeys no one really cares about.

"did not elaborate who the United States would be fighting."
[Read the article: So we've got that going for us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well this War on Christmas thing is far from over.
I have several very conservative friends, and believe me, they're all for bombing, invading, attacking just about everyone. One friend even told me she hopes California falls off into the ocean. McCain's statement may sound outregeous to alot of people, but to the Republican base its a call to arms...not that any of them will actually, you know, have to bear arms.
-
"Remember, the Republican candidate doesn't need to be great, he just needs to be "preferable". I fear for the future of this nation."
[Read the article: So we've got that going for us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That's it exactly. If it ends up McCain vs Obama I give the edge to Obama. I think it would be close, but Obama offers something fresh. If its McCain vs Clinton, McCain wins big. The election will be decided by undecided and independants. If the choice is between two dinosaurs those groups will go with the dinosaur they might not agree with but they think is telling the truth over the dinosaur they deem dishonest. And let's face it, dishonesty clings to the Clintons like stale cigarette smoke.

This is like when The Police handed their instruments off to U2 on stage
[Read the article: Et tu, Teddy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ted Kennedy's endorsement is like a changing of the guard. Its the Party establishment lining up behind the new order. The Democratic Party now sees how toxic the Clintons are. They're completely willing to destroy the party for their own gain. The Party establishment, more and more Democratic voters are getting disgusted by the Clintons. Unfortunatley, time is on the clinton's side. February 5 is coming up too fast. I think she'll prevail. If that big glut of primaries were several weeks away I think Obama would have been the big winner.
-
Oh surely having Kennedy, Kuchinch, Kerry - the three great liberal K's will help Obama with that alleged (but unproven) great "cross-over" appeal they insist he has right. LOL.
[Read the article: Et tu, Teddy?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Clinton supporters are getting as shrill as the clintons themselves.

Don't tell me...
[Read the article: Obama overflow]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Bill Clinton was walking up and down the line wearing a big "2 for 1 Sale" sandwich sign.

Maybe grace? Is that the something Ms. Morrison was alluding to? Obama seems a comparatively cool customer, compared with the Clintons and their supporters
[Read the article: Toni Morrison endorses Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think what we may be seeing with Clinton supporters is a rare occurance of mass Rumpelstiltskin-ism. And it isn't pretty.

Jabari
[Read the article: Rezko arrest rains on the Obama parade]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You beat me to the puch. In Chicago we went through all of that, and it never amounted to anything. Also, as much as I dislike the Clintons, a staged gland-handing photo isn't a big deal. I think it just makes Hillary Clinton look a little foolish for bringing him up.

"It is Clintons who have been demonized"
[Read the article: Endorsing Obama, Kennedy goes after the Clintons]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Que up the Psycho music.

Best of luck
[Read the article: A farewell note]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've always enjoyed your posts.

Thank god she's not endorsing Clinton
[Read the article: The Democratic response]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We would have been subjected to 15 minutes of self indulgent screeching.
