A report out of Hillary Clinton's campaign says that Obama ran an ad in Florida. Has anyone seen a follow up on that?

He ran a national ad on cable news stations which ment Florida was included.

I think the Democratic Party isn't getting involved in the Florida charade because it would just turn into more psychodramatic hysteria from the Clintons claiming that the entire party is out to get them. By refusing to make an issue out of a subject that was a done deal months ago, the Democratic Party is pretty much leaving the Clintons to look rather foolish without getting caught up in their little game.

It will make her look as desperate as the Birthday Party in Streetcar Named Desire

The news won't be that she "won." The news will be that she she once again plays dodgily and dishonestly. It will be more of a joke than a win. It will be one more story about the clinton's stooping to any level for their own gain. It will be one more "fuck you" to the Democratic Party from the Clintons.

She'll be on tv accepting an empty, meaningless "victory" with that Mr. Sardonacus smile plastered on her face and her souless, grinding stump speech.

She's not doing herself any favors.

guaranteed the continued existence of slavery in the South. Lincoln roundly rejected it. But, perhaps a more *experienced* candidate might've found a way to accept said compromise?

Don't Ask, Don't Tell. I remember that compromise.

Original article: The Democratic response

It was very safe

Bush's speech was so weak I have a feeling a very strong or confrontational responce from the Democrats would have just sounded nasty. Bush was uninspired and kind of pathetic. I think the Democrats treated him like a nonentity.

Thank god she's not endorsing Clinton

We would have been subjected to 15 minutes of self indulgent screeching.

Jabari

You beat me to the puch. In Chicago we went through all of that, and it never amounted to anything. Also, as much as I dislike the Clintons, a staged gland-handing photo isn't a big deal. I think it just makes Hillary Clinton look a little foolish for bringing him up.

Maybe grace? Is that the something Ms. Morrison was alluding to? Obama seems a comparatively cool customer, compared with the Clintons and their supporters

I think what we may be seeing with Clinton supporters is a rare occurance of mass Rumpelstiltskin-ism. And it isn't pretty.

Don't tell me...

Bill Clinton was walking up and down the line wearing a big "2 for 1 Sale" sandwich sign.

Oh surely having Kennedy, Kuchinch, Kerry - the three great liberal K's will help Obama with that alleged (but unproven) great "cross-over" appeal they insist he has right. LOL.

The Clinton supporters are getting as shrill as the clintons themselves.

This is like when The Police handed their instruments off to U2 on stage

Ted Kennedy's endorsement is like a changing of the guard. Its the Party establishment lining up behind the new order. The Democratic Party now sees how toxic the Clintons are. They're completely willing to destroy the party for their own gain. The Party establishment, more and more Democratic voters are getting disgusted by the Clintons. Unfortunatley, time is on the clinton's side. February 5 is coming up too fast. I think she'll prevail. If that big glut of primaries were several weeks away I think Obama would have been the big winner.

"Remember, the Republican candidate doesn't need to be great, he just needs to be "preferable". I fear for the future of this nation."

That's it exactly. If it ends up McCain vs Obama I give the edge to Obama. I think it would be close, but Obama offers something fresh. If its McCain vs Clinton, McCain wins big. The election will be decided by undecided and independants. If the choice is between two dinosaurs those groups will go with the dinosaur they might not agree with but they think is telling the truth over the dinosaur they deem dishonest. And let's face it, dishonesty clings to the Clintons like stale cigarette smoke.

"did not elaborate who the United States would be fighting."

Well this War on Christmas thing is far from over.

I have several very conservative friends, and believe me, they're all for bombing, invading, attacking just about everyone. One friend even told me she hopes California falls off into the ocean. McCain's statement may sound outregeous to alot of people, but to the Republican base its a call to arms...not that any of them will actually, you know, have to bear arms.

re: Kathleen Kennedy

So the Clinton's are being endorsed by the Kennedeys no one really cares about.

On no, Bill said something mean to Barack

I wish he WOULD say something mean to Barack. At least that would take some balls. Its the slimy innuendo that the Clinton's are engaging in that is despicable. Their message is always clear, but they always leave themselves that disingenuous wiggle room to act "innocent." Its passive/aggressive bullshit, and its sleazy and cowardly. But the Clintons have always existed in that world of smelly places you find when you turn over a rock. I don't care what the Republicans would throw at Obama. The shit they throw is one of the reasons I won't vote for Republicans. Its not any more attractive if Democrats resort to it.

I think, sadly, the Clintons will lock the nomination up on February 5 (or very very close). As soon as that happens you'll hear the air go out of the balloon. There will be little excitement for their campaign. Opinion is turning against the Clintons and their tactics. If the glut of primaries being held on February 5 were a few weeks later, I have a feeling the results would have been in Obama's favor.

And I guess Bill went on for 75 minutes wherever he was tonight

and apparently talked about himself the whole while.

Its true, this isn't over by a long shot, but the Clinton's have pretty much sealed their fate as far as the general election goes. If she gets the nomination it will be a disaster for the Democratic party. My guess is that we will see more and more major figures in the party abandon them. Of course that won't stop the Clintons.

If she doesn't get the nomination I wouldn't be shocked if she ran as an independent.

Original article: Nets call it for Obama

24% is better than the 10% suggested by the polls

If Edwards comes in second there;s no way the clintons can put a good spin on it...watch for them to deliver a real low blow.

The media's role has been nothing but the Clinton's enablers

Since the moment Obama won the the Iowa caucus we've been subjected to nothing but a sickening circus of CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON. The media has breathlessly followed the Clintons down whatever slimey path they chose. There has been no discussion of issues at all...just CLINTON CLINTON CLINTON. And if the topic changes, rest assured the clintons forced their way back into the headlines.
