Original article: Hillary's time of troubles

Can someone please refill cythera45's perscription

As soon as Clinton or Obama gains the upper hand in a very real way the party leadership will have a little talk with the other just like when those Republican senators took that walk over to the White House to tell Nixon it was over. If which ever one of the two is told to step aside decides to give a big "fuck you" to the party they're dead politically. This could be over with Texas and Ohio or Pennsylvania even it the nomination is not actually "wrapped up." Both Clinton and Obama want careers left in tact after the dust settles. If either is told to back off, I can't see either refusing.

Original article: And they're auf!

SPOILER! SPOILER!

Apparently only three go to the finals. Word is its a double elimination, and two of the designers were decoys.

I'm guessing Sweet P. and Rami (in the shocking Austin Scarlet elimination) get cut. Chris will be a suprise finalist. My prediction.

Christian will win

Sweet P's looked like the circus.

Jillian's was ad douless as sh, herself, came across on the show, It looked like she had made her designs out of cement: cold, hard

Chris. Tim Burton will be calling him

Rami. Really beautiful. He designs for rich Hollywood girlsm and doesn't care whether Nina Garcia and Michael Kors like it or not.

Christian will win. More than anyone there. He had a signature on everything.

Time for him to just shut up

Reading that statement just emphasizes why the Clintons are so disliked and mistrusted. More rubbery double-talk. It might have worked in the '90's but it aint working anymore.

He'd do everyone a favor and just shut up.

Pets are family

I have two macaws. Considering the great age they can live to I'm sure they'll outlive me by a long, long time. So I'm looking at a lifetime of care for them, and vet bills can be very expensive for birds.

If people don't want to assume the responsibility of caring for a creature who's entire survival depends on you then you shouldn't have a pet. To me pets are family.

Original article: Four more years

"Prosperity and peace are in the balance," Calm down...this was from The Onion

...oh wait a minute! He really said it.

All joking aside, do not underestimate these people. "Well we haven't had another terrorist attack since 9/11" "I just don't think the Democrats can keep us safe" "I'm not happy about Iraq, but its better if we fight them there." We've heard it all before. People fall for this crap in numbers enough to hand the White House back to the Republicans.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Democrats as a party and both candidates better come out with powerful foreign policy positions beyond "I'll pull us out of Iraq." Biden and to an extent Dodd were the only ones to talk about foreign policy in a powerful way. It has to be addressed if the Democrats want to win in November. In this last debate between Clinton and Obama Iraq came up at the very end. Foreign policy was treated as a minor afterthought.

Fear tactics work, especially as people are walking into the voting booth. The Democrats can not let the Republicans own national security and foreign policy going into the election. The can't play defense.

Original article: Clinton courts Latinos

I see an Obama pinata in the very near future

Picture her ferociously beating it at a campaign stop in Texas. Mark Penn would have to drag her away as she screamed over and over, "DAY ONE! DAY ONE!"

But the real question is, will the tactics used by the Republicans in 2004 work again in 2008?

Yes it will work. Remember the boomer womwn voting for Clinton in the primaries were the "security moms" who voted for Bush in '04. It wasn't like George Bush's first term was even acceptable. It was horrible. He was re-elected, anyway. Enough Democrats fell for the terror tactics. It might not resonate as much this time, but it still will be a force to be delt with.

George Bush has always been and remarkably still is very popular with the military. Of course his own military record is lousy, but it didn't stick to him. It sure stuck to Bill Clinton.

The Republicans can and will use it against the Clintons. 2008 is alot different than 1996. 9/11, two current wars and the threat of terrorists. The Clintons were reviled by the military, and that will surely be an issue. I'm not saying its right or fair.

He won twice.

and many thanks to Ross Perot.

He certainly wouldn't win in today's environment.

"If Obama is the "no experience" candidate against John McCain, I can see a Democratic defeat that would be the death-knell for the party."

Hillary clinton is tied to her husband. Much of her "35 years experience" involves what her husband did more than she. She speaks of "Ours years in the White House" "When we were in the White House." "It took a Clinton to clean up after a Bush, and will take another Clinton..."

The Republicans will be running a 24 hour a day Islamo-fascists Are Coming to Kill You campaign. If Clinton gets the nomination the Republicans will be offering up a stoic, stalwart war hero. The Democrats will be offering The Draft Dodger's Woman. That's the big cannon they have loaded and aimed and ready to fire the second she nails down the nomination. The military loathed Bill Clinton from his first day in office to his last. Maybe you need to remember those Clinton years with Republican lawmakers saying if he visited the troops "his saftey might not be guaranteed" or military personel saying "He's NOT my comander in chief." I

"its my duty to follow orders, but I have no respect for him." " "this may be the first time the military refuses a President's orders."

Obama is military nuetural. Clinton is military toxic (don't tell me she's on the Senate Armed Services Committe. No one cares). Obama can chose a Wes Clark type as running mate. There's nothing Clinton can do to overcome being the Draft-Dodger's Wife. At time when we're mired in two mid-east wars and terrorism still a resonant issue, you better believe that can, alone, be fatal to her campaign in the general.

Clinton will never beat McCain.
