Amazing

It didn't take long, did it? She's reinforcing all of the negative perceptions of herself and the Clinton years. Imagine what she'd be like as President!

Everyone knows politics is a rough business and you have to take the punches as well as throw them, but she's coming across as dishonest, petty and mean-spirited. Her "Now the fun begins" remark will definitely haunt her. At least Obama has the savy to know how to use the velvet glove when he goes on the attack. She's starting to get personal in a very unpleasant way.

My hope is that she gets sent reeling after Iowa and New Hampshire. This election is too vital, and my fear is a Hillary Clinton headed ticket would give us a Giuliani, Romney or Huckabee in the White House...as well as Republican gains in congress.

re: Anonymous

I was wondering the same thing. This definitely throws cold water on Cheney's plans, and I have to suspect it was intentional. It really will tie the administration's hands in their final stretch. They won't have time to recreate the dire Iranian threat to a degree an already skeptical public would accept. Plus, the presidential campaign will be heating up, and people will be less far less agreeable to any profoundly controversial moves by an outgoing (and failed) administration.

"I have very little time for socializing or game playing"

I know, the kids, the job, etc. You're SO busy. then why are you spending so much time trolling the internet dating sites? Desperate is never pretty. If you meet someone in the course of your day and hit it off, great. But what you're doing is GAME PLAYING.

Original article: Quote of the Day

If I believed in such things...

...I'd say he'd roast forever in hell.

For someone who presents himself as such religious person, a devout christian, the man has no soul. He's completely amoral. He has single-handedly brought this country to the brink of ruin, has set the mid east on fire and placed his fat cat corporate cronies over the welfare of the American people. Yet he can act with such arch smuggness.

I don't believe in a heaven or hell, but I hope his remaining days in the only world we have are bitter and unhappy beyond description.

Original article: The Dodd and Biden show

If they all can't be on the radio...

...can the NPR folks at least handle all of them regardless? No fooling around, no grandstanding, exactly as it should be.

And Biden and Dodd definitely owned the day. Very sad that they can't get an ounce of attention.

Original article: Huckabee on the NIE: Huh?

But angels carried his bullet to a deer when he was hunting...

...so does he really need to be informed on these little matters?

My guess is the Huckabee balloon will burst very shortly. His wierd behavior as Gov. of Arkansas will become an issue before long. He really is just a rube.

the tip of the iceburg

Huckabee apparently has quite a reputation as Governor. Alot. alot, of shady financial dealings along with this rapist story. A reporter in Arkansas had been dogging him for awhile, and wrote a big piece on the Huffington Post that paints a very different picture than the meek little doe-eyed Christian he presents himself as. I have a feeling the media meat grinder is setting him up for one big fall.

re: toadfoot

I'm more disappointed, and frankly sickened, by the american people. His character was well known prior to the 2000 election, but he was celebrated for it. 2004 was even more inexcusable. I have to say, though I'm shocked that he's turned out to be far worse than anyone could have imagined. I expect very bad. I didn't expect bad of epic proportions. What frightens me is that the entire field of Republicans running for President don't seem much better, and I worry the american people might not be mart enough to avoid a further disaster.

As far as Iran goes...what we're hearing is alot of "Why I otta..." There's not a damn thing he can do now and he knows it. He's blowing smoke in a pathetic attempt to save face and not appear impotent. Its too late for that. He should just slink away and occupy himself light the White House Christmas tree and meeting with Boy Scout troops untill he leaves office.

That was certainly a very short statement

He probably was in a hurry to get the guys going on his bathroom remodeling project.

"Americans tire of those who would jettison their beliefs, even to gain the world."

Unfortunately, "beliefs" in America means belief in rediculous fairtales. Too bad "beliefs" doesn't mean fairness for all, helping out those less fortunate, honoring the planet we live on.

Romney didn't "jettison his beliefs." He sold his soul to a devil with a cross. I agree with the above. He seemed a much more decent man before he decided to stick his head up the hatefull ass of the christian right.

Rome threw them to the lions for a very good reason

Normally I don't react when someone starts spouting something about their religion or faith. No more. I won't even let an innocent "god bless you" after a sneeze go by unchallenged. I will never step into any house of worship for any reason even if it means offending family or friends.

I think we have reached that Network moment...we should be "mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore." We've been bullied by stupidity and bogotry for too long. Time to take the country back.
