Ben Sen, you're right

I think the real problem also is career politicians. If you can somehow wrangle your way into congress, you're set. It always is big news when an incumbant is unseated. It should be happening all the time. Change is good. These people settle in and fatten themselves at the trough like pigs. It comes down to the ones who can stomach the filth they have to wallow in to maintain their place. Have you ever listened to alot of these Representatives? I get the distinct impression many have no idea what the function of Congress even is.

Maybe term limits isn't such a bad idea. Or maybe it shouldd be like jury duty. One day you open your mail box and say, "God damn it! I've got Congressional Duty!"

Too many money grubbing, opportunists flocking to public office as a lifelong career. Cut out the perks and the healthcare for life and the pension and the gifts and graft from K Street. In other words the government needs to be fumigated. The problem is we're aat the point where the very people who are the problem are the same people we're dependant on to make the changes.

We're fucked, face it.

...but he lost 700 lbs

I've made this same comment about George Bush before: I don't buy the religous drag at all. Bush, Huckabee, Dobson, Robertson, Reed, Haggard, Perkins...they all talk big Christian talk, but can you point to the actual behavior of any of these phonies that in anyway could be called "Christian"? They're all charletans playing to a gullible, unhappy, bitter and bigotted crowd. They know how to fan the flames and do it with a big heaping dollop of Jesus is My Savior. And at the end of the day with all of them the cash register is always full.

The "faithfull" will gladly fork over their cash and never turn on them unless they're caught red-handed in something that can't be ignored (Swaggart, Baker, Haggard...), but like shark's teeth, there's always another to seemlessly step in and take their place with littl notice.

Huckabee doesn't actually see a theocratic war with Islamic extremests. He sees the Cash Crusade George Bush is on and thinks a piece of that for himself would be mighty nice.

I never believe those type of polls

People give the answer they deem correct. What they really watch is anyone's guess.

Sick to death of the Clintons (again) already

And now Obama's wife is telling African Americans that its "time to wake up." Its so nice to see the campaign won't be an invigorating clash of ideas after all. I mean things are so great in america we can afford the luxury of this sort of nonsence.

I hope Edwards get the nomination and tells them both to fuck off.

the difference

Alot of people who don't support Hillary Clinton are Democrats and liberals or progressives who don't like her voting record (especially on Iraq/Iran); don't like her inability to give straight, consistent answers; her veneer of untrustworthiness; her baggage from her time in the White House with her husband. Those people want and expect more. Conservatives and Republicans are, in my opinion, without a moral compass. They celebrate the very qualities of Rudy Giuliani that are so ugly and repugnant. Everyday there is more and more reprehensible stories about him coming out. He's NOT getting a free pass. His press has been far worse than Clinton's. His supporters are brutish and mean spirited. It all seems to elevate him in their eyes.

George bush had been around for years. Everyone knew what he was about. He was elected (twice) because that is the state of america today, and that's what people wanted.

I expect to get Sen. Clinton's endorsement when I am the Democratic nominee

That's what I would have said.

Thank you Sister Anne

I went to Catholic grammar school in the 60's when they were considered "modern." Sister Anne told us in religion class that creation, the miracles, the Nativity story and the resurrection were symbolic stories in the Bible and believing them as literal events would be like believing in fairy tales and missing the message. Oh we were taught evolution in science class, too.

Sister Anne, we need you.

would it have been too hard to say,

"That is offensive to Sen. Clinton. I plan to win on the merit of my experience and ideas."

These people spend their lives before the public. They SHOULD be ready to deal with uncomfortable and difficult situations. Why are they so cowardly and weasely? Rebuking that woman would not have lost him supporters and it would have drawn a line in the sand to what is not appropriate beavior at his appearances.

But pander we must.

Original article: On the fake campaign trail

Since the last debate

there has been virtually zero attention paid to the candidates' stands on issues that are crucial to voters' decision making process. The Clintons have once again wrangled the campaign into All Clinton All the Time.

I agree with many other people on here. If its wrong when George Bush does it, its wrong when Hillary Clinton does it (or Obama, Edwards, Giuliani, Romney...but please give us proof if those people are also doing it). Hillary Clinton comes across, through her own fault, as shifty and dishonest. She can't give a straight answer to any question. She seems to be a "creation" more than a candidate. This question planting story might seem pretty minor, but its just one more element that adds up to a pretty suspicious whole.

We've suffered through two absolutely disastrous terms of a paranoid and self indulgant amdinistration. We can't afford to follow it with more of the same.

"Bush hatred is different"

Yes, its fully justified. If he's he's shocked by the Bush hattred he seeing now, he'd be horrified to see the cold, whithering eye history will turn towards George Bush. He will not only be remembered as one of the very worst Presidents, but also as one of the most reviled figures in American history.

George bush has not only done grievous damage to our nation, our standing in the world and the office of the President...he's poisoned the soul of America.

You people seriously need to look sexy up in the dictionary

These guys might be nice, they might be interesting, they might be talented...but sexy is a whole other animal.
