Bill Clinton
[Read the article: The Swift Boating of Hillary Clinton?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've mentioned this before. In the waning days of the 2004 Presidential campaign Bill Clinton advised John Kerry to travel across the country making a series of high profile speeches condemning same sex marriage. Kerry thanked him for the advice and told his people that he would never do that. I have no use for the Clintons or their brand of politics.
Interesting that since last week's debate the news has been loaded with stories and discussions of the unfair piling on, sexist treatment of and now swift boating of Hillary Clinton. However, she has not addressed any of the inconsistencies she was challenged on.
These past seven years suffering under George Bush have given a sheen to the memory of the Clinton years. Certainly, those years were light years better than the hell we're living in now, but much of the rancor in our current political atmosphere started during Bill Clinton's presidency. Much of it can be blamed on the type of politics the clintons delt in. As the primary campaign moves foreward I can't help but think that old Clinton fatigue will return. I think we've had enough of the Bushes and Clintons.
This week Sen. clinton gave a murky responce to a question from a pro-life woman at one of her appearances. Meanwhile Sen. Biden gave a very detailed, clear statement on the situation in Pakastan that will undoubtedly get zero attention from the news media. But Bill clinton serves up some of his honey-coated sleaze and it will certainly be big news.

I'd rather see him convicted of war crimes after he leaves office
[Read the article: Making a mockery of impeachment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'd rather see the Democratic majority in congress get their act together and grind the Bush administration to a halt in its final months. That would be far more usefull than a dog and pony show of an impeachment that wouldn't go anywhere...and if it did, do we really VP Rudy leading up to the election?

I think a celebration is in order
[Read the article: Robertson for Giuliani, Brownback for McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Rudy should take Pat out to dinner to celebrate this momentous occassion. He can invite the nice gay couple he stayed with when his wife tossed him out.
You know, Pat Robertson wrestled with the Devil on his living room floor and can leg press 2000lbs. I would say his endorsement is priceless.

The balloon drop will come down in two columns
[Read the article: What was that again, Sen. Biden?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Giuliani goes to the Republican convention with the nomination sewn up I bet the convention stage will be a big, glitzy set of the famous World Trade Center latticework wreck.

[Read the article: Robertson for Giuliani, Brownback for McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And remember Jim Jones' downfall came when his voter fraud antics were uncovered. All of those charletans are up to their necks in dirty politics.
As far as the tax issue goes, I'm sure no one wants to step into that. It doesn't take much to whip the sheep up into a frenzy, and that would certainlt do it.

The World Against the Clintons, Part 2
[Read the article: Sizing up the Democratic race so far]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Clinton and Giuliani are front runners because people know who they are. If Homer Simpson and Paris Hilton were running, they'd be the front runners. What I find dangerous is that the media HAS annointed both the nominees. We're not getting an examination of the candidates' positions. We're getting an examination of how EVERYTHING effects Clinto and Giuliani. If either stumbles it will be due to a big mistake or that enough people ARE seeking out the information on their own.
Not even a week after Clinton botched the last debate (and she certainly did. she sounded dodgy and dishonest throughout) its already been turned into another go around of The World Against the Clintons...and that hhas Bill Clinton's stink all over it. We've been buffeted with nothing but "piing on" and "sexism" and "swiftboating." She hasn't addressed any of her glaring inconsistencies or vagaries. I think the country has had its fill of the clintons.
As far as Obama goes, if he wants to be President he should finish out his Senate term and make sure he sponsors some key legislation then kick Blagojevich out of the governor's mansion and try to clean up the mess in Illinois. If he can do that, then by all means, give the presidency another shot. He sure aint ready now.
I can't help but be saddened to my very soul to think in this most profoundly important election that will determine the course our country will travel after the horrific disaster of George Bush the best we can come up with is Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani.

"I felt drawn to seek something different"
[Read the article: How George Bush really found Jesus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Like bourbon instead of vodka?
So many drunks replace a scotch on the rocks with Jesus on the rocks. Its one crutch for another. Personally, I don't buy the Christian thing with Bush at all. He may have found Jesus for a while when he had the dt's, but I doubt it lasted. And there is just something very artificial and disingenuous when ever he talks about his faith. Notice whenever they show him in church. He's always standing there with a surly smirk on his face. He doesn't seem engaged at all.
He had an epiphany alright, but it was a PT Barmun epiphany not a Jesus epiphany. He saw gold in those delusional Christians and road it all the way to the White House.

When Mother Angelica endorses him I'll be impressed
[Read the article: Welcome to the 700 Club, Rudy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It will be interesting to see if Giuliani is pressed on any social issues by his new Christian pals. I bet not to any great degree. Of course if he is, he'll throw abortion rights and gays under the campaign bus quicker than you can say "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend." He'll claim global warming is a hoax and declare he wasn't decended from apes (technically he's right about that. He was decended from rodents).
In other words, if Giuliani has to full out embrace his inner Christian to seal the deal with these kooks, he'll do it in a way with such naked insincerity and ambition that he'll look like a bigger joke than he already is.
