She's quickly becoming a joke. The way to overcome that weasely debate performace is not to engage in this sort of bizzarre behavior. She really should have simply addressed each issue she dodged and evaded Tuesday night with a clear, strong reasoned, no-nonsence policy statement. If she doesn't win in Iowa what will she do, shave her head, check herself in and out of rehab and lip-sync badly in New Hampshire? I'm really disturbed that in a matter of days this has already become The Cult of Hillary Show. It even out-creeps the attitude about George Bush when he was running. There is a very dangerous sence among her supporters that she "deserves" it. That she is "owed" the White House. Hillary as President is somehow more important than a good strong person to correct the course we're on. I'm not hearing any of her supportes defending or even articulating (if that's possible) her policiy stands. Its all, "She's been preparing for this her whole life", "its her time."
In the matter of a few days she's become almost as unbearable as Britney spears. I'm sick of her.
Please, by all neans substitute TomCruise if you require a penis to understand my point. Its jsut that Britney spears is the currently in the Number 1 spot,
And please by all means, base your vote simply on gender if you're comfortable with a candidate who couldn't give a straight answer (oh my! will call me homophobic now?) to save her life. And when she's President and she digs us deeper in Bush's middle east shit, please feel satisfied.
Your mind is made up. You've been posting your blindsided nonsence about this over and over. Go back and read my posts and those of others and maybe you'll understand there are people with very sound reasons to have no use for her. I'm one of them.
The very fact that conservatives have put torture and wiretaps on the table as a legitmate discussion shows they own the arguement, and sadly are winning it. I can't tell you how many people just look at me and roll their eyes when I complain about this. Its sad but I believe the majority of americans are not bothered by it.
Now we hear he's planning an ugly race-influenced campaign in the south. Race baiting, torture, Marilyn drag, mob connections, hated by the NY fire dept., 3 marriages, no appropriate experience for the job. The Republican party would be in ruins by the time he was done.
WE'VE made in selling this nuclear armed, military dictatorship out to be something more than a dangerous pawn that will most likely end up burning us very badly." is what she should have said.
...and why exactly are supposed to be so wild-eyed and fearfull of the Persians?
No Thelma Ritter, we can't. This is exactly how we ended up with George Bush. Remember that debate where Al Gore ran rings around the idiotic Bush? I do, and I also remember the only thing the media talked about afterwards: Al Gore sighing at the fool. Under the circumstances I would say he was justified, but it fueled and empowered the "I like him because he sounds stupid like me" crowd and the "I'd rather have a beer with him" voters. Most people don't care about the real issues. Hell, most people don't understand the issues if they're even aware of them. Alot of people still say we attacked Iraq because they were involved in 9/11!
This is like mana from heaven for a news media that sold its soul to tabloid journalism. And it will be the only thing to resonate with a public who's attention span ranges from Paris Hilton to OJ Simpson.
And when we end up with the "quasi-fascist triangulating waffler" Hillary Clinton or the psychotic fascist Guilliani in the White House people will have the nerve to wonder "why?"
And when you're treated in a way you find offensive or disrespectful or you hear something said behind your back you don't like the sound of...well then button your blouse, don't cry "sexism."
I've had to over come plenty of my own hurdles and prejudices (and still do), but I can honestly say I've never cheapened myself in doing so.
"I'm meeting with an important potential new (male) client today, and I just happened to put on a dress that shows some cleavage." Sad if you find that progress.
The money's on the dresser, doll. You can find your way way out.
Sadly, the national press should have been covering him especially after the last debate. His responces to the Iranian questions were the real high points. Obama is in way over his head and Clinton is a calculating hack. Why they're the only two who merit attention is beyond me.
"rush to war." I'm always mystified by that one. We're going to war, we're just going to take our time?
Not at work or at a business meeting. That never enters my mind. I really do pride myself on being a professional. but since I do spend a lot of time at the gym, I'll wear a tank top next time I go to a meeting with a client.
You mentioned showing cleavage AT A BUSINESS MEETING. I didn't call you a whore. You called yourself one. Obviously it has occured to you.
Business meeting, sexy clothes...not appropriate, sorry.
