heyjude...exactly

Censure for these two fools, officially scolding MoveOn, to scold or to honor Rush Limbaugh?...this is how they're occupying their time while we are probably mired in one of the darkest periods of our national history? Its all a diversion tactic. Watch waht the magician is doing with the hand behind his back...oh say, like overwhelmingly giving George Bush his green light to go after Iran. Money, money, money. Clinton's campaign strategist has ties to Blackwater. They're all swimming in the same filthy water. All of this foolishness is simply to mask what's really going on.

our nation's opinion-making elite are the sole remaining group loyal to the GOP's right wing

Remember Ned Beatty's character in Network? I think we're seeing a very similar thing in real life.

"It's not like my life from here forward is going to be defined by it," Rove says

He's right. That's the good news for him. It will only be one part of how is life will be defined. The bad news for him is that the rest of the "definition" will be equally appalling.

Can the prayers...

...and impeach his ass Speaker Pelosi.

Now if Nancy Pelosi was praying that George Bush would NOT veto that bill and Darrell Issa was praying that he would veto it who's prayers would be answered?

Did we elect these people to spend so much time praying or did we elect them to confront the problems facing the country and solve them?

Original article: How did the T get in LGBT?

Take out the "T" and they'd move on to the next initial

Anyone who truly believes Republicans and Christian conservatives would breath a collective "Whew" if the dreaded "T" were removed and support any gay civil rights laws is sadly mistaken.

Personally, I feel no connection to the transgendered community and don't really feel they are part of the gay community, but we have become somethng like The Island of Misfit Toys. I say keep the "T." If it takes longer, if it takes more work, so be it. If a few more people can eventually see some of the burdon of a very difficult life lifted so much the better.

Original article: Remember President Dean?

Hillary Clinton is a celebrity

That's the only reason she's leading in the polls. She's famous and everyone knows who she is. Her support can't be comming as a result of her positions or her voting record. Her positions are murky at best and her voting record is far too supportive of George Bush. If Britney Spears announced she was running for President she would be leading in the polls.

Its a sad comment, but there's really nothing John Edwards can do about it.

If you think the Bush administration should have greater surveillance powers, approve them.

And that's why they will approve them. They're taking money from the same interests that are calling the shots. They also want to have the same abusive aparatus in place should they control the White House and Congress in 2009.

Anyone who thinks the Democrats are at all interested in changing the current situation is fooling themselves.

The real problem

Its becoming clearer and clearer we, the American people, are electing leaders and representatives who haven't a clue about the Constitution, what principles our country was founded on or the way the government is designed to function. I doubt most memebers of Congress (not to mention our President) would be able to pass a high school civics test.

He's probably done his homework

Maybe (most likely) he's done some private polling and the numbers aren't there for him. Hillary Clinton's and Barak Obama's front runner status can't be chalked up to the popularity of their positions...who the heck can figure out what exactly their positions are? Their both media created "stars" and the majority of voters fall for that everytime. People supporting Obama site his sence of hope (what ever that means), and those supporting clinton site her experience (although most probably couldn't discuss her voting record or positions). It comes down to the "who would you rather go to a bbq with?" all over again.

Al Gore stuck his finger in the wind and found it wasn't blowing in his directtion is my guess. He would have made a very good President, and probably just what we need right now.

Original article: The gloves come off on Iraq

Five years ago tonight, 77 U.S. senators voted to authorize George W. Bush to use military force

77. chilling, isn't it? How many senators voted to roll the red carpet out to Iran?

Of course there's no way to predict what the situation in Iraq will be when the new President takes office, but Clinton's shifty use of the obvious doesn't sit well with me. Whenever I hear her talk about Iraq I see her fingers crossed behind her back. Voting "yes" on Kyl-Lieberman is beyond forgivable. I will not vote for her in the primaries or the general election.

Choosing a candidate (either party) is a profoundly important decision this time around. The public needs to listen carefully and not make decisions based on familiarity or celebrity. A major change in direction is essential. Clinton, by the day, is looking like more of the same.

Original article: Closer to Joy

This might not be a popular thing to say...

I really liked Joy Division, but I like New Order much more.

Original article: The gloves come off on Iraq

God forbid we elect a candidate that has, you know, thought about these kinds of things

Considering she has admitted that she cast that vote 5 years ago blindly without fact checking or investigating Bush's claims...I'd say she isn't "that" candidate.

Hmmm

I just have a sneaking feeling we'll see alot more attention lavished on Afghanistan and the hunt for Osama with the presidential primaries coming up.

The curtain goin up and Osama in chains like King Kong at the Republican convention. I can see it.

At this point that's the only hope they have.

Maybe one of these days...

...Bush will get drunk enough to screw her. God knows she's spent years fawning and doting and bowing and scraping and fantasizing about it. All she'll be left with is the dismal memory of really bad sex, and she can hang her head in bitter disappointment, leave the White House and get a nice job on The View.

God bless her, but...

...she's an over paid circus act, not a musician.
