Original article: "Blackwater is our team"

When I was young...

...the thought that this country would collapse never entered my mind.

About ten years ago I told a friend that we were born at the right time. We'll die before the country falls.

A few years ago I was worried that I'd live to see the end..

Now I have a sick feeling we're experiencing it.

So did Norman Bates.

"absolutely no intention" of letting a supplemental funding bill for the Iraq war out of his committee until the president changes course on the war.

Actually, he shouldn't let any supplimental bill out of his committe unless it calls for the resumption of the draft. You want to see the American people demand a change? That will do it.

This was a vote about whether or not to go to war.

Hmm, interesting. However, there was just a vote in the Senate that overwhelming approved the President's classifying the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. Many people feel that in hindsight it will be seen as "a vote about whether or not to go to war." Sen Clinton again voted yes. And Sen Obama? This time he had the opportunity as a US Senator to voice his opinion and cast his vote. He did neither.

O'Reilly and Rush

Why can I imagine them together in a bad dinner theater production of The Producers somewhere in Florida in a few years?

Time to move on MoveOn

Why should MoveOn.org continue to support Democrats that not only run and hide from them, but join Republicans in denouncing them? I hope MoveOn actively works against any Democrat that voted for that rediculous resolution. If they need to support alternative candidates or third party candidates, so be it.

I am writing ALL of my representatives and telling them if I don't see a big change in their actions and some results before the election then I'm voting third party (who or whatever that might be) across the board...and no more financial support from me until they earn it.

and she's the smart one?

King: "We're back. So Jenna, has Justin timberlake brought sexy back?"

Jenna: "Oh yes! Uh...I mean..well...yeah...you know, like, I'd shave down there for him...uh..no I mean...he's really cute."

King: "How long did it take you to write your book?""

Jenna: "What book? Oh, umm...I don't know. I like wrote it, but oh...no I mean it was written in a certain amount of time...I don't know."

"I understand there's a front page ad that's been taken out by this outfit called MoveOn.org

they send these emails out to people from those contraptions of theirs.

I know he's trying for that down home good ole boy thing, but to me, he just sounds stupid.

Congresses approval rating

will be in single digits by the time this is over. Congress has no business involving themselves with MoveOn or Limbaugh.

I really think people have reached their limit. The audience shouted down Rahm Emanual on Real Time With Bill Maher last week when he started his double talk. We're reaching the point where a third party could make a very strong showing in one of these elections.

This country needs a high colonic.

If there's two questions left," he said, "I'll take them and then let's be done."

If I were a member of congress questioning him and he dared say that to me I would have calmly looked at him and said, "Would you like some water Mr. Prince? You're going to be here for a very long time."

The saddest, most frightening aspect of this is that no one cares. I was talking (or trying to) about this to people at work, at the gym, etc. and all I got was blank stares or shrugs.

Log Cabin Lunatics

What do they get from the Republican Party? The Republican Party gets a few more votes from them, and they can smirk at them while those votes are counted. Oh well, P.T. Barnum said , "There's a sucker born every minute."

I can fully understand not voting on a singular issue, and that gay Americans have a wide variety of concerns...BUT the Republican Party actively courts people with a rabid desire to harm gays. The Republican Party is more than happy to use gay Americans as their perennial punching bag. Security, national defence, foreign policy, tax policy, energy, health care? The Republican Party has been a disaster on all fronts. There is no reason in hell for these Log Cabin Lunatics to persist in their insane support of the Republican Party. Personally, I think they're just attention whores.

Can he ever...

...use a public rest room again? Whether a fine restaurant, conference, theater...truck stop...he will never be able to walk into a public rest room without everyone going, "Hmmm."

Original article: James Dobson's Rudy problem

This has no concern for "values"

The only way "values" can even be remotely mentioned is that Dobson, Perkins, Robertson, etc. "value" their seats at the table of power centered in the Republican Party. They "value" their unfettered political and financial positions. My guess is that James Dobson's only concern with abortion and gays is how effectively he can rail-road his gullible multitude with hot botton issues. These organizations are raking in tax exempt fortunes, tied in with no-bid contract lavished firms like Blackwater, and have bullied their way into positions of power in the current Administration. The climate is growing somewhat more unfreindly to them. They still command the undying devotion of their braindead flock by appealing to their most bigotted and bitter impulses. They're bullying their way back into the inner sanctum of Republican politics the best way they can: threatening a voter boycott. It might not work this time. George Bush and his disastrous presidency and policies are now the official face of right wing Christianity. I think the American people by and large are sick of it.

This is a venal power play, nothing more. It has no conern with "values."
