Edwards vs Rudy

I think John Edwards' contest shows the signs of panic and desperation. His campaign isn't going well, and he's resorting to tricks now. It made me queezy reading about it. He's finished. But if he gets a few people down to New Orleans and they all do some honest work, no harm done. but it doesn't help him as a viable candidate in my opinion.

Rudy. That is just plain inexcusable, especially just a day after the near universal disgust expressed over his $9.11 fundraiser. Obviously he's courting the "crazy vote." His poll numbers might be good now, but I predict by the time the primaries actually come around he'll be out of the picture. His behavior is like that of some offensive joke candidate. I predict his act will start to wear thin very soon.

She has said nothg...

...that would make me want to vote for her or feel comfortable voting for her just because she was the Democtatic nomenee. In fact, I have no desire to cast a vote for.

Its disturbing that this campaign (which has started far too early) has come down to who is most qualified by virtue of their well connected organization and insider edge. And to a large degree we're being force-fed Hilliary the Inevitible by the major media simply because its in their best interest. She'd be ratings/circulation gold. Unfortunately what's good for the media giants has nothing to do with what's good for the direction of the country., and even more unfortunate is the sad fact that most of the voting public is more interested in the "good story" that substance.

John Edwards will get my vote in the primary for one reason: I like what he has to say.

Yes, excellent idea. Everyone should contact their representatives and demand a resolution condemning him.

I'm contacting mine. Along with Palosi and Reid.

Why bother with elections?

Apparently the only measure is who can amass the most money from corporate interests and Hollywood spenders. Why bother with elections at all? The real race is between Clinton and Obama and which can raise the most cash.

Personally, Hillary clinton has never distanced herself from her unfortunate vote that gave Geeorge Bush the green light to invade Iraq. She's dodgy on her own plans for dealing with Iraq...AND she vote yes to classify the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, in effect, giving George Bush his green light to expand this disaster into Iran.

I only have one vote, and its not much, but she's not getting it. I don't care how much money she sucks up, she's not getting MY vote because of her voting record and murky policy pronouncements. Edwards, by far, comes closest to saying the things I want to hear. My one little vote will go to him. I hope it matters.

He must be under incredible stress.

He's probably spent a fortune on DC "escorts" in the last month.

We as citizens have a duty to show the world that when we make a horrific mistake we try to make it right.

How do "we" do that? "Our" hands are pretty much tied by dependence on our elected representatives to hold him accountable. Instead, they have opened the door for him to further this disaster in across the boarder in Iran.

Unfortunately

there is more discussion about Hillary Clinton's hag-factor, her husband and her fundraising prowess than about her positions and policy statements. I won't vote for her period. I base that on the statements she's made since buying...I mean running for President. She's nothing but a shill for her corporate doners and her position on Iraq is nothing more than George Bush's "stay the course." She's dodged and weaved and double talked though every debate. I won't vote for her in the primaries or the general election, and it has nothing to do with her laugh...her public laugh anyway.

he has been talking with his pastor about the idea of undergoing a full-immersion baptism and hinted that he might do so once the presidential campaign is over.

Wow, and if he actually won the election maybe he could speak in tongues and handle snakes at the innauguration.

Draft

Blackwater (the name alone is enough to mention), our troops stretched to the breaking point with multiple and extended tours, The President vowing to create a situation where the next President can't end the occupation, conflict with Iran a definite possibility...there should be no funding bill for these wars sent to the President that does not include reinstituting the draft. Things can't continue as there for much longer without it. But Bush isn't intending to leave just the mess we have now for his successor, he'll leave the draft to them as well. By that time Bush and Cheny and co. will have bled the country dry.

The Democrats should attach reinstituing the draft to every war funding bill. Then we'll see the lazy public snap to attention mighty fast.

What happens when the monster turns on its maker?

Alot of people asking questions on here that I've been trying to get information on for a while. But all those questions come down to one: what happens when the monster turns on its maker?

Can a beligerent nation hire the services of Blackwater for a situation that is not in our national interest? What sort of regulations are there on private well-armed sophisticated private armies based on our soil. Blackwater is known to have strong ties to the extreme Christian right. Extreme right wing Christian groups have had for years shaddowy ties and cross overs with white supremist and neo Nazi groups. What do we really know about the "soldiers" employed by Blackwater?

I am highly disturbed by Rep. Issa's attempt to disrupt Congress's oversight of Blackwater's role in Iraq

And I'd be highly curious to know if Rep. Issa has some finacial stake in Blackwater. Everything about this debacle is about money.

When history looks back on this the Deomcrats in Congress will be vilified for allowing the mess to continue and allowing themselves to be bullied by a bunch of thugs.

Original article: Quote of the Day

"There is a party in Congress that doesn't like companies that make a profit."

I hope a Democratic congressman that has the balls to tell Prince he's testifying before Congress because there's a party that loves comapnies who profit off of the blood of Americans.
