Original article: War, chaos and Bush's faith

"The only innovation of the War on Terror is that it's a war without possible victory"

And that was quite clear when Bush first introduced us to his War on Terror extravaganza. He promised it could take decades or genrations. Really it was just an invitation for the pigs to line up at the trough. Bush, Cheney, the neocons, they don't care if the war is going good or bad, all they care is that its going. There's a fortune to be made for the lucky few and the cottage industry of supporters that have grown up around the (Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Fox News...)

But the real blame has to laid squarely at the feet of the American people. It was clear in 2000 that this man wasn't fit for the office (the cadre of Nixon hold-overs he was surrounding himself with should have been the nail in his coffin). True, that election was a sham, but it never should have been that close to allow the travesty to happen. But there is no excuse for the 2004 election. No excuse at all. We (the American people) re-elected him and his sycophantic party knowing his policies were were dishonest, immoral and disastrous. He won because he fostered the fear, and contempt and loathing rife in far too many areas of the country.

After the next attack happens in this country we should can the the self-absorbed "the whole world is mourning" bullshit and take a good look in the mirror. That's what we should have done after 9/11.

"The key," he said, is whether Gonzales has "the confidence of the president, and he clearly does."

Which really means, "He'd be pardoned if anyting happens, so FUCK YOU!"

Original article: Pelosi: It's about the war

get real

George Bush would survive an impeachment and emerge a martyr. To the general public the charges would seem too convoluted and murky to register any outrage. He'd turn up the dialect and "I'm the guy you want to have a beer with" schtick and his approval ratings would shoot up. Also, impeachment proceedings would probably inspire even more despicable acts from Bush and his mastermind, Cheney.

If Pelosi thought she could cut him down at the ankles she'd be swinging the ax. She doesn't have the votes. A flamboyant show would be counter-productive. I'd love to see this criminal adminstration go down, but its not realistic.

If Pelosi and the Democrats really want to do some serious damge then they better use the presidential campaign to incinerate Bush, the Republican party and the conservative agenda to cinders.

Original article: Obama and Clinton, Round 2?

Finally

He's starting to actually say something. I'm glad Hillary Clinton spat in his face. It was what he may have needed to drop the caution. I'll start taking him seriously now.

2 fart stories

I was on the bus coming home from work and an older business man sitting in one of the seats facing the aisle was reading the paper. He leaned over, raised one buttock and loudly farted. Immediately, he dropped down his paper, looked horrified and rushed off the bus.

Also on the bus. I was looking out the window and at the bus stop was a man with his dog standing next to a very well-dressed middle aged woman. Suddenly the dog's ears pricked up and his head snapped to attention. He discreetly leaned over as far as he could and sniffed the woman's butt. He got within an inch or so but never touched her. She stood there like nothing had happened not realizing the dog had exposed her diabolical bus stop fart.

Original article: Beyond the Multiplex

Bergman vs. Antonioni vs...

Arguing over the two film makers really comes down to personal preference, they were both very different its difficult to compare them side by side. BUT what both men clearly had was personal vision which is sorely lacking in todays cinema. Today's "great" film makers are primarily known for sourcing out work to expensive computer and digital shops, or following by the numbers formulas. It makes one realize what a great loss Robert Altman was. Most of the people flocking to the suburban cineplex to see 300 or Harry Potter might not realize what was lost with the deaths of Bergman and Antonioni, but both of their films will be discussed, argued over and dissected long after the memories of todays vapid blockbusters has fade. They both were true artits.

"They just don't seem to get it." Oh yes they do.

They're politicians and they crave power. that's the only reason they're there. Its their goal to step on the necks' of the American people the same as the administration and the Republicans. The only difference is that Bush and the Republicans are up front about it. The Deomcrats go through this rediculous hand-wring and then quietly capitulate every time. They're covering their asses. Let the Republicans and the President look like the thugs and present themselves as powerless pawns of the evil ones. Well they have the majority in BOTH houses. No excuses.

People should wake up and realize that NONE of these politicians are in the least bit interested in doing anything other than consolodate power. They have no interest in the american people besides campaign contributions and votes.

Original article: Rolling over, again

Remember the last election?

How many Democrats running were being pushed as new-fangled conservative Democrats that would appeal to all those good liberal-hating, god-fearing Americans?

Well I looked at that list of how everyone voted and I saw the names a few of the "new and improved Democrats)
