  • Beneath Elizabeth Edwards

[Read the article: Edwards vs. Coulter, Clinton vs. Edwards]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why would she even acknowledge Anne Coulter in the first place? A woman of Edward's stature engaging Coulter just legitmizes her. She's a carnival side-show attraction. Leave her to her appropriate side shows: right wing swarees with conservative-gay porn star-whore marines, cable news shriek shows, etc.

I think Elizabeth Edwards time could be better spent than giving attention (and increased book sales) to Anne Coulter and Chris Mathews.

  • I have to ask again...

[Read the article: Ann Coulter gets what she deserves]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

why would anyone dignify that woman with attention in anyway at all? Elizabeth Edwards got handed her ass on a platter by Coulter in that exchange. She played Coulter's game and lost. The only thing that came from that exchange was anne coulter dismissing a sputtering Elizabeth Edwards with smirking indifference. Coulter is a freak show and should not be engaged or encouraged by anyone of merit. Of course Chris Mathews will always be glad to have her on his dog and pony show, but the likes of Elizabeth Edwards should simply ignore her for the trash she is. Tthe only result of this was to put Anne Coulter back in the news.

I've been saying the same thing to all my friends. Enough of the Bushes and Clintons. Neither have done great service to the country and this endless infatuation with them completely eludes me...and mark my words, we're not finished with Jeb, yet.

I think its time to move forward and leave both in the past. The nation deserves better.

  • The luxury of concern

[Read the article: So what does that rug say now?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is there something just a bit disingenous about George Bush's "oh, woe is me" confabs with the specially invited? He'll go back to his lap of luxury in 2009 and ponder the weighty issues of his actions and legacy...when the mood grabs him. Otherwise, he'll spend his days enjoying the privilaged carefree exsistence he's enjoyed his entire life.

If he really cared about higher things, he'd be spending every waking minute trying to correct his disastrous actions in Iraq, try to mend fences and repair the damage he's done this country in our foreign relationships, use his position to try and assist the American people (not his big oil, big insurance, big drug, big corporation buddies) in terms of energy independance, health care and immigration.

He knows what legacy will be, and it won't be pretty. He's just looking for some ass kissers to pat him on the head and say, "You did good Georgie."

  • Why?

[Read the article: Obama in the money]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I guess I don't understand what inspires people to give a dime to Obama or Clinton. Once again, the media has decided they will be the candidates who matter and require our attention, support and money. Neither has said or done anything that would make me vote for them. George Bush was also a media creation. With all the baggage and shortcommings he was saddled with he never should have made it through the first primary, but gullible people were sold the good ole boy, cowboy fiction and they swallowed it whole. I wonder if 99% of the common people who send their money off to a candidate can articulate that person's stand on the issues. Frankly, I can't really articulate Obama"s or Clinton's stands, myself. Which is why I have no use for either. If the day comes when that actually have something consistent or of real substance to say I'll give them some consideration. Untill then you can keep both of them.

...who would be Baby Jane and who would be Blanche?

  • and US troops are still dying in a rathole in the desert, for no other reason but to protect the Legacy of George Walker Bush

I'm sure Halliburton and the big oil companies would beg to differ with you. They're giving up their lives so many pockets may be lined.

  • People don't care about Scooter

But he is the face (one of the faces) of this administration's corruption. I'm happy to see the Republican candidates support Bush on this. They're gift wrapping themselves in corruption to please a radical base.

And the more Fred Dalton Thomas talks the creepier he gets. Keep talking Knox, er, Fred.

String her up by her ankles and let all the family, friends, co-workers, etc. who had spend money and waste time for her special day wail on her with sticks until the dress is trashed to her satisfaction. Then leave her dangling there like Mussollini while everyone goes to a bar and has a good time.

The months planning and torturing every soul around her isn't good enough anymore. Now everyone has to wittness a final, childish self-indulgant tantrum? No wonder most marriages fail.

I'd have more respect for him if he had said, "Yeah and FUCK ALL OF YOU!"

  • Bush asked Americans to find a way to show their gratitude to the U.S. troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

[Read the article: "You can car pool"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This will sound really bad, but I have to ask the question: Why should we show them gratitude? I feel sorry for them caught in the crossfire of Bush/Cheny's war crimes. The misadventures in both Iraq and Afganistan have made the world a much deadlier and more combustible place. The troops are just pawns.

I certainly will send them my most sincere sympathy and hopes that they all return home safely, but there is nothing going on over there that deserves our gratitude. Harsh? Maybe. But I'm sick of the Adminstration, politicians and conservatives using "the troops" as a moral flak jacket. The troops are not over there defending the country or making us more secure. They're over there to enrich the big oil companies, defence contractors and I would suspect George Bush and Dick Cheney. Maybe Bush and Cheney should car pool to show their gratitude and Haliburton can get down on their knees (its cheaper than a care package).
