  • and Joe...

[Read the article: GOP advice on escalation debate: Change the subject]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The Republicans will have to face the harsh realities of this war for a very long time to come.

  • "I haven't been there."

[Read the article: It's the country just this side of Iran]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What?! He was there with a plastic turkey!

  • "Well, you know, I hate gay people."

    [Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Substitute "black" for "gay" and would anyone who dared utter that still have a job in the NBA, on a network...or anywhere?

He's entitled to his feelings, but he should be held to the same standards as Michael Richards.

  • Mike...

    [Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You can hate anyone or anything you want in this country for what ever reason you want...even for screwy religious reasons based on myths and fairy tales. As a society we reject hatefull and bigotted speach. Michael Richards broke no laws, but he was punished by our society. This idiot should be held to the same standards Richards was held to.

But my sneakung suspicion is that you would twist and turn anything to support your obvious homophobia.

  • "I never had sex with that woman, Monica Lewinski."

    [Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Does Chesney wag his finger at us on 60 Minutes when he uloads his big denial? Does anyone ever believe these people?

Poor Kenny Chesney. He might as well just do his special Advocate cover now and get it over with.

  • Disturbing...

[Read the article: What Americans really think of Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...that "good," "integrity," "leader," and "strong" would account for almost half of the top ten.

  • re: Man vs. Wild

[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I actually prefer Survivor Man. Bear Grills pissing on his t-shirt and wrapping it around his head on Man vs Wild was classic, but when Survivor Man threatened to give himeself an enima with stagnant rainwater I thought, "Now this is good tv."

  • Mark my words.

[Read the article: The Sadr City question]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Muqtada al-Sadr will be the new dictator of Iraq. Maybe not in a year or five years, but he will be in charge eventually, and we will bitterly regret it.

  • Headshaving, rehab...the real reason:

    [Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Anna Nicole Smith. She went belly-up and suddenly it was "Britney Who?" Spears had to do something to keep herself front and center. Why anyone cares about any of these sideshow freaks is beyond me. Let her bite the heads off of chickens for all I care. She's no better than anyother geek show.

  • Once again...

[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

...heterosexual men grossly overestimating their own attractiveness.

  • But I think there is a legitimate need that a lot of men feel for a sort of 'desexualized zone'.

[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Ok, the gym I go to is pretty evenly split gay/straight. You know, there really is no problem or anxiety. Everyone uses the locker room for its intended purposes and there's really nothing else to it. No one gives it a second thought.

To me this whole concept of straight men being so fragile they can't be in a locker room is completely idiotic. Maybe there is a certain faction that feels that way, but they're...well, idiots.

  • Please

[Read the article: Sen. Bill Clinton? Really?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Can we finally be through with both the Bushes and the Clintons? I really believe the country deserves better. Its time to move on.

  • I would have agreed with our senior senator, Dick Durbin, and voted 'nay.'

[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think we should take notice of that full comment. While Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Joe Biden all do backflips trying to exuse, explain or disown their vote to give George Bush his blank check there were members of the Senate who had the wisdom and the guts to vote "no."

  • Is there an empty cell in Arkham Asylum for him?

[Read the article: Cheney: Democrats are seizing the "fun part" of withdrawal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It really does seem like he's lost his mind. He sounds increasingly out of touch with reality.

  • James Baker

[Read the article: Baker, Christopher to chair war powers panel]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I never liked him, I still resent his involvement in the 2000 election, and I'm sick of him turning up over and over again.

  • whats next?

[Read the article: One way to deal with Walter Reed: Stop soldiers from talking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    They'll send them to Guantanamo?

  • my question

[Read the article: Yes, and they can learn first aid by treating their own wounds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When will a majority of military rank and file (and their families)finally express their outrage? Buy and large, their still very supportive of the Bush administration. I don't get it at all.

  • "That's something I look forward to -- particularly if someone else is paying."

[Read the article: What a difference a paycheck makes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And wouldn't it be great if someone picked up his tab for Jeff Gannon's services along with that beer.

  • Dry or dusty?

[Read the article: Wanted: One male, dry-witted, for baby making]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The funny thing is, you can tell by her letter that she's not in the least bit witty or funny

  • $$$$$$$

[Read the article: Dick Cheney's "inconvenient truth"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The real "convenient truth" is that "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here," "the war on terror," "the CENTRAL war on terror," "surge" and "stay the course" have all accomplished Cheney's most important mission: cash, and lots of it, showering down in great gushes on his cronies.

Someday I hope we find out just how much Bush and Cheney personally profited from all of this. I'm sure that's all very well concealed and hidded. We may be dead by the time that truth comes out, but I hope someday it does.

  • There was an old woman who lived in a shoe...

    [Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Another baby?! Why can't she just get alot of cats?

  • The important thing

[Read the article: Everyone runs from Coulter -- except Coulter]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Everyone knows she's an attention whore and will do or say anything for publicity. 100 years ago she would have been biting the heads off of chickens in a freak show.

I wonder, I'm very curious to know what the reaction was to her remarks in that room. I have a feeling she felt the love from that crowd. She's vile and poisonous, but she's really just the festering scab over the real rotting wound. She appeals to the lowest, and she has a sizable following.

  • Oh really?

[Read the article: What they said about Libby before he was convicted]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Former Sen. and Libby defense fundraiser Fred Thompson, February 2006: "[Patrick Fitzgerald] had to realize early on that the matter he was appointed to investigate was not a crime. He should have put his little papers in his briefcase and gone back to Chicago."

And Knox Pooley should stick to his acting jobs.

  • Where's his "package"?

[Read the article: The right-wing cult of contrived masculinity]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Everytime I see that Uncle Sam poster of George Bush I always wonder, "Where's the package?" All bulked up and absolutely nothing in his pants. From the waist down it could just as well be Barbie. It really is telling. These right wingers are really just like screeching castrati. And they're absolutely terrified of sex, especially male sexuality. That's why they hate gays so venemously.
