"Anti-Semitism will often not speak its name directly"
[Read the article: Exploiting religious divisions for political gain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]But it does speak pretty directly often enough.. ask Mel Gibson and all the right wing neo-nazi and white power groups. Its not the left or the democrats. The anti-semetic welcome matt sits squarely before the conservative's door step. They've courted that crowd for easy votes, now they can live with them.

I'll be interested...
[Read the article: Democrats united on Iraq and Lamont]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...to see what the polls are like since the Bush administration has swallowed whole the foiled London terror plot. I honestly hope the american public has finally smartened up to the fact that its being used and manipulated in the cruelest way...but I don't think so.

sayitain'tso
[Read the article: Democrats united on Iraq and Lamont]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You're right, but its too late. Bush, cheney, the Republicans and the right wing already own it.

a frank discussion
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"The British official said the Americans also argued over the timing of the arrest of suspected ringleader Rashid Rauf in Pakistan, warning that if he was not taken into custody immediately, the U.S. would "render" him or pressure the Pakistani government to arrest him."
That doesn't exactly sound like "a frank discussion" to me. It sounds more like the usual bullying, self-serving tactics used again and again by this administration.
After billions of dollars, thousands of US casualties, untold Iraqi civilian casualties, the creation of a chaos ripe for terrorists and the absolute trashing of our international standing the ultimate slap in the Bush administration's face was the British proving John Kerry was right: it IS a law enforcement issue.

Confused
[Read the article: Speedo freaks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The author talks about speedos becoming big in 1993. 1993?! Where was he all through the 80's when Speedos were all that was worn...at least on gay beaches. Oh that's right, there's always that ten year lag between what's gay fashion and what's straight fashion.
Its hysterical to see all these straight guys shaving their body hair just when all the gay guys are letting it grow out. Never fails.

But seriously folks, I kid all the injured and lamed...
[Read the article: "Fire Rumsfeld" and other GOP one-liners]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"It's hard for me, especially being one who voted for [the war], when I go and visit a young soldier or airman or marine and they've been lamed for life by the war ... As soon as we get enough [Iraqis] trained to take over their country, bring our babies home."
Was this a joke, too?

Common sence
[Read the article: And Sambo's was just a good place for pancakes]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Whether or not George Allen knows his monkies or not doesn't really matter. Does anyone think he would ever had referred to a caucasian person as "Macaca"? The origins and meanings of most racial slurs har unknown to most of the people who use them.

Enough of the Clintons, please.
[Read the article: Clinton: Lieberman isn't like the rest of us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I sincerely hope this election won't provide Cill Clinto with yet another opportunity to grandstand and promote himself with murkey, meaningless pronouncements.
The Democrats need to take the Republicans head on if they wish to win in the fall (and 2008). They should have slammed the insane Dick Cheney HARD last week over his repulsve comments. They didn't. More of Clinton's double-talk won't accomplish a thing. It just muddies the water and make the Democrats appear weasley.
Its the future not the past. I wish the former president and his wife would sail off into the sunset.

DUMP HIM
[Read the article: My boyfriend wants an open relationship]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Open up the relationship and you're no longer a partner. You're a convenience and a rival. If that's the toxic dynamic you wish to live your life in go for it. Its self-destructive. Log onto any of the pick up websites. Most of the guys on there are in "open relationships."
Clearly this is NOT something you're comfortable with, so DUMP HIM and show some self respect!

Tim Gunn
[Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The man should be on Mt. Rushmore. He's a national treasure. Wouldn't it be great if he ran for president?

Laugh, but...
[Read the article: Hatch: Terrorists are waiting for the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...it will work. It always has in the past, and it will again. Come September we'll be stuck with the Republicans still firmly in control. The public falls for it everytime, and the Democrats do nothing of substance to counter it.

If it were me...
[Read the article: When even a photo op is too much]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...and I was living in the broken-down wreck on my home in New Orleans and the President's advance team notified me that he he would be coming to assure me help is on the way...well I'd tell him to stay home, but be sure to stop by for a visit AFTER my house was all fixed up.

Jaws the Revenge, the gold standard for good-bad
[Read the article: "Snakes on a Plane"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm curious to see it this weekend, but I have a feeling it won't be in the same league as that true work of bad cinematic genius, Jaws the Revenge. But in that case I think Michael Caine was the only one involved with any understanding of the outstanding "badness" being produced.

take your bat and ball and go home
[Read the article: Son of a preacher man]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Roman Catholic church, Fundamentalist churches...their stand on homosexuality is pretty clear. Why would gay people even WANT to be part of those bitter, bigoted, hatefull institutions? Why would gay people be so anxious to fork over their cash which is all these religions are really interested in. Maybe greater emphasis should be put on all enclusive new denomonations rather than fueling the bigotry of these existing churches. Create loosely knit religious communities where everyone can feel welcome and comfortable...that aren't based on money and power. Faith should be a very personal thing not institutionalized in Nazi-esque fashion. These large organized faiths are nothing more than money-making ventures that succeed by terrorizing members into strict rule and demonizing anyone who falls outside of their agenda.
Devotion to an organized religion does not equal morality. Indeed the venom spewed by these institutions is completely immoral. If faith and Christian beleifs are important ot someone who is gay they should celebrate it in a forum that is moral and posative, not wallow in a sewer of greed and hate.

Oh Sama!
[Read the article: The Fix]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oohh la la. I never believed for a second he ever "lived" in a cave in Afganistan. He shows up, films his videos (like George Bush's plastic turkey trips to Iraq) and runs back to frolic with Playmates of the Year in Plam Springs.
