[Read the article: Gay, godly and guilty]

Nowhere in that article is the most imortant question of all answered: How much does this scam cost?

What a sad, sad story. Basically these are predatory groups preying on deeply disturbed individuals (who'es issues go far past their homosexuality)for profit. At the same time I don't have an ounce of pity of sympathy for any of the idiots who buy into this shit and ruin their lives in proccess. Life is tough for everyone. I grew up in an arch-conservative neighborhood in Chicago where the mere mention of homosexuality was greeted with the utmost disgust and horror. I lived in constant and legitimate fear. As soon as I was old enough I high-tailed it to the gay side of town and never looked back. I have lived a wonderful and happy life.

"I had a very fulfilling, completely faithful, monogamous relationship with Ted. I really loved him. Everything about it was great, but I felt that I had sacrificed my relationship with God in order to have it. And it wasn't just something in my head. It was in my soul." This man deserves all the misery and unhappiness he gets. No further comment.

After three gluttonous years or so of fattening themselves at the US tax payers expense. Please don't re-write the history of this fiasco just because they're being eased away from the trough. I did read about it and it sounds to me like they'll be right in the middle of things till 2009.

  • Irony

[Read the article: And in other news, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If the headline is somewhat jarring the picture that accompanies the article is a sad touch of irony. It shows exactly where Mr. Bush's path leads.

Also frighteening is the thought that Bush, cheney, etc., have probably not had a singled troubled night's sleep. History will be savage to this administration and the stain its put on the country.

  • David Bowie, come back!

[Read the article: Touched for the very first time]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

David Bowie, the chameleon genius of rock, was asked since he had made a career out of a relentless reinvention of himself would he ever take any credit for Madonna's success (since she has tried the same thing). His wonderful-only-as-Bowie-could-say answer, "I would if she had any talent."

  • Interesting...

[Read the article: The scarlet R]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Mr. Senator seems upset that the Republicans in general, and the President in particular, have failed in creating the desired perception with the public. He doesn't sound like he realizes its their policies that have failed and lead to disaster.

  • Let me get this "straight"...

[Read the article: Coulter: Bill Clinton is a "latent" homosexual]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

During his administration Bill Clinton is fooling around with a fat little female intern in the White House.

During his administration George Bush has a gay male prostitute making frequent documented and undocumented visits to the White House.

Bush has always struck me as a stilted self-loathing closet case. He always looks stiff, uncomfortable, forced and phoney. His macho swagger looks about as authentic as the Village People.

  • I wonder...

[Read the article: Coulter says Gore is gay, too. But she's joking about him]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If Anne Coulter had gone on Harball and called someone a "total nigger" or a "total kike" do you think it would have passed without comment? Do you think it would have even made it on air?

  • dominic

[Read the article: Coulter says Gore is gay, too. But she's joking about him]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

She called Al Gore a "total faggot" on national TV. Calling a gay man a "faggot" is the same as calling a black person a "nigger." Believe me, I know.

That is seems to be acceptable for her, or anyone, to go on national tv and use that slur without any comment or appology is repulsive to me.

Poor Mel. How long before he's arrested for blowing George Michael in a public park?

  • And the rest of the world shakes its head

[Read the article: Bush: We have to destroy Lebanon in order to save it]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"And as we saw on Sept. 11, the status quo in the Middle East led to death and destruction in the United States, and it had to change."

That makes me cringe as much as "fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here" as a reason for invading Iraq. The smug, out of touch arrogance of it just amazes me. But they hate us because we love freedm.

Who is going to pick up the pieces of the demolished Lebanon, and who is going to pay for the cleanup of the massive oil spill that threatens to contaminate much of the Mediterrenean? (wait til that shit starts washing up in Greece and Italy). You know it won't be Israel.

Its time to lay 9/11 right where it belongs: at the president's feet.

  • "These people are not Christian at all..."

[Read the article: Abortion under siege in Mississippi]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Oh yes, they are most definitely Christians. Its time to stop deferring and backing down from this repugnant crowd. Bigotry, hatred...that IS what Christianity is in its heart. Don't be fooled. These people are evil.

  • they're all nuts

[Read the article: Blunt vows a freeze on global warming fight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

An arch conservative friend of mine told me you get better gas mileage by using your air conditioning than driving with your windows rolled down. Where this information came from is beyond me. Apparently, as the theory goes, the drag from open windows uses more fuel than, well, rolling the windows up and cranking the AC. I'm no scientist or engineer, but I can tell you on those rare occassions when I do use the AC in my car (and it isn't very often even in a heatwave like we have now) I can see the fuel gauge go down, down, down. I get great gas mileage with the windows down.

Of course this is the same friend who told me when the big oil companies decide its time for us to drive hydrogen cars we'll get them, so we're in good hands. And this is the same person who goes insane if you mention global warming.

Blunt's antics will play very well with the Republican's conservative base. They're all nuts. All they have to do is ratchet up the terroism scare tactics and hope they can pick up enough independants and lilly-livered Democrats to keep Congress...but rest assured this anti-global warming bullshit will play very well with their screwy base.
