[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've posted this here sme time ago however, it is pertinent to this story and many others and is a clear demonstration of the limits of free thought and the lack of common sense and reality base of the "believers":
In my appliance repair business, I often do things completely gratis for any elderly person/couple/family who truly cannot afford to pay my legitimate charges for what I do.
In one instance, I had done something like this for a really old lady and, she had called me again for smething else.
I did what was required to correct her problem and, again, I didn't charge her anything.
I enjoy doing these things as, I get a nice feeling inside when yhey're happy about it.
The prototypical "neighbor lady" with the ever active nose came over as I was leaving.
She said to me, "I know about how you did things for Mrs. XYZ and I want to tell you that you will go to heaven".
I looked her in the eyes and said, "I'm an atheist and I don't believe that stuff".
Instantly she got that "believer" look on her face and said, "Oh, you're going to go to hell".
There, my friends, is a perfect demonstration of the thinking or lack thereof of the "believers".
