  • Why Should Hillary stay in the race?

[Read the article: What should Hillary Clinton do now?]

I don't think there has ever been a case in history up to this point when a candidate for President--Obama in this case--made it a campaign strategy to demand his opponent get out of the race when less than a third of the delegates to the convention had been chosen--and even committed delegates were only bound for one voting round at the convention.

If the media had done its job, criticized the Obama camp for trying this strategy, and expose Obama's scam, the ploy would have failed in its real intent--convince primary voters Hillary Clinton could not win the nomination. But, typical for 2008, the Media continued to be a part of Obama's campaign and his ploy worked brilliantly. That is one reason Hillary's final numbers fell somewhat in Ohio and Pennsylvania and the two primaries earlier this week.

Hillary has every right and a least some reasons to continue her campaign. As she has said, every voter should get the opportunity to vote and have that vote counted in the Primary. Most of the voters in at least some of the Primaries are set to give Clinton significant majorities within the next couple of weeks and should get that opportunity.

If, as Stephanopoulos claims, she is interested in the VP spot, staying in the primary race helps her achieve that goal, because Obama assuredly does not want Hillary Clinton for Vice President. Clinton is liberal, Obama is marxist. She is too independent and will bring an independent view to the administration's table, something Obama will not be happy about.

And finally, by staying in the race, Hillary keeps attention focused on the Democrats, as she has stated. This primary season has brought a lot of voters at least temporarily into the Democratic party. She has stated that stayihng in the race helps the party.

There is, I think, almost no chance that either Hillary or Barack Obama will ever be President if they do not get elected this year. So this is the only chance for Hillary to be either the President or VP. She's no quitter.

  • Thank You, Mr. Conley

This article is fantastic. It shows you real politics, not the kind political pipers play to teh beatific faces of the gullible. Surely something similar happened in 1960, between Joe and Jack Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson.

If anyone thinks deal maker Barack Obama and his backroom advisers is not capable of cutting something similar with the Clintons, call Virgin for your free ticket on the first space tour.

The Marxist express is on its way to Washington D.C. I think by now some of those people who saddled the Republican Party with "decorated veteran", "straight talk express" McCain, are seeing the writing on the wall. I already see excuses like "Well, McCain is the best we can offer this year", or "Well, who else is there?" to justify picking picking loser.

If Barack Obama doesn't get the presidency this year, he never will. They can't keep the paint on the pig long enough to fool the voters again, or amass such pervasive media support for a candidate. Trouble is, I think the engineer driving the marxist express will get to the White House station. And if he gets there, he will stay 8 years. The country will be dramatically "changed" forever, most likely.

Lots of tears are shed over answered prayers.

  • Race isn't "Racism"

    jonathanseer,

I enjoyed your long post. Race is by no means "racism", a word which has lost all objective meaning. "Racism" is the favorite word used by minorities to attack others who disagree with them. That is laughably clear when the Obama camp attacks the Clintons as "racist".

Your are right the Southern states where Obama racked up all those delegates which are giving him a majority at the convention won't vote for him. The white majorities will give the electoral votes in Ala, Miss, Ga, SC, most likely Tenn, NC, and even VA to McCain. McCain might lose the election, but he won't lose the South.

Jeffersonian, you paint a picture of yourself as one of the arrogant wine and cheese liberal elitists we talk a lot about on these forums.

I would point out that Thomas Jefferson was a hereditary slaveowner and a Virginia Aristocrat descended from English Royalty, so you might want to change your username.

You have indeed put most of the charges which have been leveled against Obama in a brief, easy to read format. And they are all true, too! Thanks for your assistance.

  • Nyshooter, you have done it again

Your description nailed Obama most briefly and cogently of any I have read, certainly any I have written. The Obama campaign's hustle that the Clintons are racist is a huge political scam.

When I compare Obama to Vladimir Lenin, I am quite serious. The man is dangerous to the instutions of our nation if he is elected

The media has never given a presidential candidate the preferential treatment Obama has received. They knew about Reverend Wright all along, and kept it quiet. If the story had broke January 1, Obama would never have won 11 primaries and caucuses in a row, and those he did win would have been by dramatically smaller votes.

The media's support for Obama in this campaign is comparable to the Germans sending the sealed train of Bolsheviks to Russia in 1917.
