Original article: Cheap oil's victims

Sure, I could spend an afternoon doing your link please pleasure

But I won't. Why? I haven't time and you'll screech that's it all imperialist zionist neocon agitprop world domination lies anyhow. So you go merrily along worshipping at the boots of Chavez. Enjoy. I don't live there, I don't particularly care who does.

Similarly, I utterly support Iran's multibillion dollar boondoggle to build atomic weapons. Not only does 80% of their income come from oil, they import nearly 85% of all of their refined product as well. Too busy buying those Russian atomic reactors to invest in refineries. They go into deep recession at about $80/bbl crude. So at $55 they're basically losing money on every drop. Bully all for them. I hope they dump another 20 billion dollars down the rathole of nuclear hegemony.

Rest assured though

One sector that never goes down is healthcare. They're on track for a combination of 15% higher premiums and 15% higher end consumer point of delivery costs as well.

Just get a job in the public sector.

The problem with Saloniks

Is that they would only support someone who's half Dalai Lama and half Che.

Friday, November 21, 2008 11:54 AM

Do you support dictators who pretend to be socialists?

Then you're not a liberal. You're an authoritarian.

Actually having a given level of coverage is becoming meaningless

As doctors and hospitals increasingly practice defensive medicine. Order up a battery of expensive tests for everything and pray no one sues them. The last time I was in the ER I got a sonogram and a CAT scan, a few blood tests and sundry other pointless things only to have the attending shrug and say "We couldn't find anything, go home and if it gets any worse come back."

The least satisfying $7000 I ever spent. I think insurance will cover a hair under 50% of that.

I hope they go full Sharia in the UK

And just start lopping off heads and arms and legs and penises soon. There are two types of people: those who must be punished and those who haven't been caught yet.

Right now Chris Matthews

Is simultaneously having a stroke and an orgasm.

Well where did you think they were going?

Tupac Shakur Middle School?

Friday, November 21, 2008 06:13 PM

It's really neither here nor there

The GOP wants to crush the middle cash after squeezing every last dime and giving it to the rich. The Democrats want to crush the middle class after squeezing every last dime and giving it to the poor. Doesn't really matter what you call yourselves.

Original article: Get over it, Clinton haters

Obama just gave Chris Matthews a new 20 million dollar extension on his contract

My god by the end of this he'll be coming into work high on PCP and jerking off on the cameraman while screaming "ClintonClintonClinton!!!!!!!" It will be awesome to watch him stroke out on camera.

Just toss in 30 more characters

And add 2 dozen plot lines that begin and end nowhere. It will be Lost 2 and you will grovel at its shoes.

Oh I see

After being deleted twice it's clear that the line we're towing to here is that sex for cash is a right, an empowering right. I get it now. Good job Salon.

As if you have a choice?

First off unless you're having 50 tons of grain, diesel, lumber or coal sent to your house it's probably coming by truck. If you paid for air freight then it comes partially by air. Second, if it comes by USPS as opposed to FedEx or UPS you have to factor in the guy who parks somewhere and smokes weed for half the day. I doubt my postman could pass any piss test on the planet.

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:16 AM

So basically

Are you a troll, a neo nazi flamewar asshole, do you look at kiddie porn, do you buy illegal drugs online, do you spend all day on Fark or 4Chan, do you use your own name, will you embarrass us?

What's the problem?

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:19 AM

No all it proves is how truly marginalized

The 'new progressive left' has always been. Good for blogs and soundbites and whatnot, but when it comes to real governance in the real world, not relevant. Let's face reality, of the 100 things you expect Obama to magically fix, 85 of them will never be addressed and the other 15 will only get half addressed. This is the same as it's ever been. All elections do is shift the list of those 15 things around a bit.

God that was tedious

A writer who rambles is pretty damn dull. And oh, I blame the Jews.

Monday, November 24, 2008 10:09 AM

Is your husband having sex with her?

sounds like it.

Monday, November 24, 2008 10:23 AM

But this is cherry picking

The same old candards that get the blood of the fierce liberals pumping every morning e.g "we are absolutely going to bomb Iran tomorrow, we are absolutely on the wrong side with Israel, etc etc etc."

Except that we have rather good relations with Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait. We have improving relations with Libya. We have rather good relations with Tunisia and Morocco. We don't particularly care what happens in Algeria. We're even highly supportive of Egypt though they would fistfight you if you called them Arabs. And let's not ignore the decades long cozy relationship with Saudi Arabia. And we're happy to let Lebanon sort out their affairs however they see fit.

So I would ask, (pragmatically) what is this ideology you speak of when you talk about Middle Eastern Foreign policy (since that is the finite parameters of what you speak). I think if you were being honest you'd focus and limit your attention to JUST those two points at the top of this note Iran and Israel and demand a specific, special, unique and sacrosanct policy about just those two countries, and if truth be told, what you're really demanding is that we hate Israel and make Iran an ally, just like that.

I can understand the urge to assert that all our friends should be our enemies and all our enemies must be our friends, but I'm having a hard time deciding whether that's ideology or pragmatism.

Comments?

Cutbacks?

No I think it has more to do with the irrelevance of it all. Content here has been slowly winnowing down to small handful of writers slashing out the same columns week after week:
