It does not matter what they believe. It matters what they can sell to 45-48% of the voters. Don't be shocked when/if the calls for Obama's impeachment start on January 21 and persist to the last day of his first term. Don't be shocked when/if GOP tactics make McCain's campaign look clean in comparison. You do realize you've just handed a Billion dollars to Fox and Hate Radio who will now spend every second of every minute of every hour of every day screaming that President Dredlock Osama is a Muslim communist terrorist who will smoke crack with Satan from pipes made of the bones of aborted white Christian children, don't you?
Geithner is a banker. That's what bankers do. The Treasury secy has a entirely different role and scope of responsibilities. We really don't need two Fed Chairmen at the helm, do we? Also while Geithner may have spoken out in the past, in his role as NY Fed Gov, he has had a deep and wide role in this financial mess. He's lent his organization to offering up cheap almost free debt for years. THAT apparently didn't stick in his craw.

If we bailout car companies then the line of people with their hat in their hand will never end. Airlines, steel, chemicals, drugs and the homebuilders will all be lined up around the White House. And each of every single one of them should be allowed to fail for their failures. If that means 50% unemployment and the nationalization of every single industry in America then so be it.

Family court, adoption, life insurance, DNR orders, mortgages, custody agreements, power of attorney, hospice care........

Place an absolute cap on the # of vehicles permitted to be owned in the US and place a rationing system on the quantity of fuel Americans are permitted to purchase. Then cut road funding by 10%/year for a decade. People who aren't forced into moving into the cities are on their own.
We don't need all those millions of backwards hat wearing losers taking up space in colleges EXCEPT as a form of subsidizing the people who do need to be there. Cutting student loans by 75% minimum is a good start. It's the only way to control the endless spiral of price increases.
Convicted, put on trial and sent to prison, at a minimum. I for one would be happy if Congress cancelled the seats of the GOP seat holders and threw them out of Congress outright.
Someone should be looking into what real penalities can be levied against Congress for this. In other countries the duly elected leader closes the Parliament and disbands it should the emergency arise. That may be something we need to look into. All those Democratic seats seems to have been wasted.

DG and Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, etc often have lower prices than Wal*Mart. They don't have anywhere near the weight to throw around. So it's often not a simple matter of size.
No Satanic crack babies jumped out at me. I rather like their $4 generic prescription plan. It's way cheaper than my employer's Medco mail order plan. In fact if Wal*Mart provided health care like my doctor or my dentist, I'd jump at it. I just spent almost $1000 on a crown - and that's my portion of it after my oh so generous 30% coverage from the plan I pay for.
