Blinded by stunning hypocrisy!

It enrages me that Dowd would equate Bush and Clinton! Of course, Clinton's behavior leaves much to be desired but it pales in comparison to the legacy of Bush. Never have I been so outraged at a president...I could not believe that Bush would talk as he did to our allies or engage in the kind of name calling of other countries that issued from his mouth on a daily basis. He has sullied America and done great harm to our image which will be difficult to repair. The world despises George Bush and I am embarrassed for us.

Republican values are mystifying. These people wear their religion on their sleeves and yet condone torture! It must be convenient to live in logic tight compartments where it is okay to walk all over people and yet be so incomprehensibly self-righteous. Their greed and selfishness know no bounds while they brag about their Christian values. As I compose this, I get angry all over again and I am furious that the media have not brought these hooligans to task for their blunders, their sorry values, and their egregious behavior toward the rest of the world! Bush was given a free pass by the press and they bear some responsibility for our present situation, the New York Times included!!!!!

A vote for Obama was a vote against Bush

I was terribly worried that race would be a large factor in this campaign and I opted to back Hillary after Edwards dropped out. The race factor needs some explanation. It's not that Obama is black that I worried; it is because I believed that this would not be acceptable to huge numbers of voters, leaving the Democrats a loser...again!

My choice of Hillary for the Democrats rested on several factors. First, she was well known and fully experienced. However, some of her political stances had turned me off greatly. I had been terribly angry with her for supporting the Iraq war as well as making statements on several issues which disappointed me greatly. However, I had no idea that she was so capable until I saw her in the debates. There her knowledge of the issues was amazing. Unfortunately, her media coverage was dismal, along with not running a particularly good campaign. I was extremely upset when she did not win the nomination.

At first, Obama left me cold...too new...too inexperienced, but gradually he won me over and I even contributed to his campaign. I found myself being the partisan that I am because I new that McCain would be a mistake for the country. And then followed Sarah Palin...it was so evident with this choice that McCain was going to follow the same old stale games if he won. At that point, Obama began to look like a beacon of hope. In the end, I was very enthusiastic about him.

I think many Americans voted for Obama because they simply couldn't stand four more years of a Bush type administration and those who tend to be racist were so turned off by Bush they put this aside!

Barf!!!

To have Lieberman keep his chairmanship is repugnant. If there is one senator in Congress who has earned the antipathy of Democrats of all stripes, it is this contemptuous politician. I seethe thinking that he might retain his chair. How utterly spineless of them! I suppose they are afraid of AIPAC.

Original article: Get over it, Clinton haters

Experience is crucial!

It is a sign of wisdom to surround oneself with individuals who know the score. Whether Obama's choices are indeed a deja vu of Clinton thinking remains to be seen. I would imagine that these people are savvy enough to recognize that change from Clinton policies are in order if and when the need arises. After all, the centrism of the Clinton era was a response to the mood of the populace after they elected a conservative congress to make Bill Clinton's life totally miserable. I'm sure that Americans will let their views be known to Obama creating policy shifts which many of us will not like. Hopefully, Obama's psychological advantage with a clear victory will give him some breathing room to make some real changes in this country.

Wise

Online behavior, especially salacious and/or illegal like Mark Foley's, is certainly a time bomb. Perhaps the question appearing on the questionnaire is itself fair warning not to apply if such a background exists. However, it won't stop ambition. I can't believe that John Edwards was carrying around his secret...I am still furious because I had been one of his biggest fans and he let me down. I think Obama is being careful for good reason...but some fleas are going to slip through despite all the careful vetting.

Original article: Impeach Bush for Christmas

Politics and Christmas

I can understand why Laura Bush would not display the subversive ornament even though I agree with the artist's sentiments. It is naive to expect that this White House would break from their penchant to squelch dissenting opinions---yet how tacky to require patriotic ornaments in the first place! Can't we, just once, get away from all the phony patriotism! Bush bandied around the word, democracy, until he gave it bad name. Everything he does is slathered over with pretense and I am so tired of it. I utterly can't wait until he is out of office. He has sullied America's image and it is going to be very difficult to restore our good name.

Go away, Chris

I don't care what he does. He lost me years back with his behavior toward the Clintons and other Democrats. I don't watch him at all!!!!!

Original article: The buck stops where?

Feckless Bush

I get infuriated all over again when I hear Bush distort the facts about his disastrous invasion of Iraq. What a deceiver he is!!! Never has there been a more incompetent president at the helm and he has all but destroyed this great country. Words fail to describe the antipathy I feel toward Bush, Cheney and the Republican Party.
