I don't know who Obama is. After his snub at the State of the Union (which Salon hasn't even mentioned because they are so biased for Obama) I am very doubtful that he has the maturity, polish, diplomatic skills, or popular appeal over a broad spectrum of people to be a winner. His campaign has issued several reasons for turning away, a fact that is suspicious on its own.

At least with Hillary we are not in the dark. She is a warrior; we know her about her warts, her ambition, her drive, her hard work, her tenacity and I personally think she is a friendlier person than Obama. I get just a little tired of hearing about race on Salon. Everything is race this, race that...Bill Clinton played the race card, Obama is a pitiful victim of race baiting, blah, blah, blah. It has turned me off the guy!

Since when have the Clintons demonized Obama? It is Clintons who have been demonized, had their minds read, and have been villified as racists...not the other way around. While I admire Ted Kennedy, my vote does not rest on Ted Kennedy's endorsement. I still don't think Obama can win in the general election. The Repugs will chew him up and spit him out! I am not at all certain whether Hillary can win either. That is why I support John Edwards who can win!

All the venom and vitriol, plus the mind reading of Bill Clinton by the media in general and Glenn Greenwald in particular does not convince me that Obama is a winning candidate. Nor am I convinced that press speculation about the motives of any candidate are genuinely useful in helping voters pick a candidate.

I fear Obama doesn't stand a chance in a general election but I will vote for him if he is the candidate. Even Bill Clinton promised to work for Obama if he is the candidate and I believe him, but Obama is not the best choice for Democrats. He is too new at the political game and let's face it: he is a media darling now but should he become the nominee, he will become the inexperienced candidate, the candidate with shady dealings in Chicago, the candidate who is naive and who wants to talk to our enemies rather than be strong against the evil forces just waiting to bring this country down. We'll be hearing about Osama Obama as well as savage attacks against his integrity. The repugs will have a field day.

I am not a Hillary fan but all the abuse flung her way in the last two days makes me want to protect her even though I am actively making contributions to the Edwards campaign because I like where he stands on the issues. That said, should Hillary become the nominee, I will vote for her and pray that her gender and all the demonizing that she has experienced will not ensure her defeat. I think that Hillary was correct to tell us all to take a deep breath. It is time to get back to the business of picking a winning candidate and set aside speculation about motives!

Of course, Bill Clinton is going to compare Obama to Jesse Jackson's win in South Carolina. It was an astute observation, a political analysis which Bill Clinton had the audacity to observe.

Glenn Greenwald, your anaysis is one more parroting MSM piece of bias! And I am not even a Hillary fan! I'm voting for Edwards who is the best candidate, the most winnable candidate, and the candidate whose progressive agenda matches my own!!!

Walter, I expect Pres. Clinton to campaign for his wife and to do it forcefully. No, I do not want Obama to get the nomination...that would absolutely ensure a Republican back in the White House in the general election. I'm not even sure Hillary can win, but she stands a better chance. Why do the Republicans praise Obama and strike at Hillary? Could it be they recognize that Hillary is a stronger force. I think the Democrats are frittering away their chances by not selecting a candidate whose appeal crosses all the lines. Too bad Edwards didn't catch on. He had it all and I'm still going to vote for him when the primaries finally get to my state, but he never stood a chance.

I am so sick of Bill Clinton bashing. The press blathers on and on about race and then blames Bill Clinton for it. I despise the media. I think they want another Republican in the White House and are doing everything in their power to stir up a racial divide among the Democrats, plus ensure an Obama nomination so that the Democrats will lose. I feel this way and I am not even for Hillary. I am an Edwards backer.
