Competence vs. Likeability
[Read the article: Looking past Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What did Americans learn from Bush? You cannot pick the guy you like you have to pick the competent one.
What is Obama's story? The same as the Bush story: not from Washington, nice guy, will do things different. Guess what? Americans learned from Iraq, Katrina, budget, economy, that you need competence in the presidency.
Obama campaign is playing the election theme of past times: Likeable outsider. Hillary is proving to people, even if they don't like her, they know she can do the job and get impressed by her. That is why when they go in the booth, they vote for her. People are afraid, yes I am afraid. I don't need another newbie with people who can sway him here or there who is always of two minds.
Hillary is competent and fearless and people get it. Sorry elites, they figured it out and you are still on the transcended hopemobile.
Maxine Waters said it best, people have hope, they need a competent leader.
I know I am in the tank and was long ago. But I don't want to give up our chance at a competent leader.

Systematic distortion
[Read the article: How Hillary Clinton botched the black vote]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary botched yes, but the Obama camp purposefully with the aid of the MSM and the Blogs stirred up the racism card to such a fervor that there was no defense. The botching got a bit assist.
Distortion, yes distortion of Bill Clinton's words, etc. In the same way that Hillary could not win without the Black vote neither could Obama get to where he is unless his campaign did everything in their power to take it away, using distortions, lies and manipulations. When is it in insult to be black or to be equated with Jessie Jackson Jr.?
Ironic how Clintons are accused of playing the race card, cause they tried to allegedly frame Obama as the "black candidate". When did it become bad to be black? The question will also be asked why the African American voters gave their vote to a candidate who did not want to be characterized as black.

Reality Check!!
[Read the article: Night lands Clinton closer to oblivion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama was supposed to win NC by 20 points and Indiana by double digits, was it 15 or so. Neighboring state and all. Once again, Obama proves he cannot close the deal. He is an anemic candidate.

Core values
[Read the article: Edwards announces his support for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When your core value is Universal Healthcare and you endorse Obama, bottom line you are a sellout and have no real stamina.

@bernbart
[Read the article: Obama, McCain and abortion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So, how did you come up with this oversimplification of the Hillary supporters? I guess the Obama change agent decoder ring comes with the powers to provide such instant analysis. Obama at the Faith Conference that CNN held, basically said, he did not have a position as to when life started, he has to decide that. So, do I hand over that decision to someone who still has doubts? What if he decides the other way?
What about the large swath of African American voters that are social conservatives and faith based?

Obama's full embrace of AIPAC
[Read the article: John McCain's Arab-American problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama used Arab Americans in Chicago early on for fundraising and for political base building. As he became more national candidate he dumped them as fast as a New York minute. Make no mistake, Arab Americans know that they will never have a fair hearing. The Obama fantasy is just that a fantasy.

Rule 11, what you and others do not say
[Read the article: The fight over Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The claim is that the DNC rules committee is adamantly and fairly enforcing the rules. Please you should explain to your readers the rule as it is written and not as it is interpreted by the Obama campaign and MSNBC.
Big Tent Democrat aka BTD is the only one who has an understanding of the rules and how to watch the DNC Rules committee. Rules are not the Rules. They were applied and enforced differently
http://www.talkleft.com/story/2008/5/30/84335/8779
They will not know that New Hampshire spurred this crisis by not accepting the DNC primary schedule. They will not know that Rule 11 (the DNC primary schedule rule) was violated by Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. They will not know that Florida was entitled to a "waiver" pursuant to Rule 21 of the DNC rules. They will not know that the DNC Rules did not require candidates to take their names off the MI and FL ballots, that in fact that was an Obama ploy to pander to Iowa and limit Michigan's influence. They will not know that the DNC Rules called for a 50% penalty, not a 100% penalty for violating Rule 11. They will not know that Florida and Michigan wanted to have revotes but were stymied by the Obama camp. And so on. In short, the people who will be covering this event tomorrow for the Media will know NOTHING at all about the actual controversy.

@Dolersflower
[Read the article: The fight over Florida and Michigan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't care what they said or say. Obama twists, she may gyrate. It's not about them, it's about the voters of Michigan and Florida. But please pay attention to the DNC and how they bungled this primary. First, if they just enforced the rule, losing 50%. Florida and Michigan would have been fine. If they enforced the punishment against New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina, it would have been fair as well. All 5 states, under the Rules should have been penalized with losing 50% of their delegates.
So next time you talk about rules are rules, these are the rules. I don't know who or why, but they bungled. As far as I am concerned, Dean, Brazille and all of them should resign and go hide in some small cave somewhere.
Why the stripping of votes for Florida and Michigan.
