The writer who mentioned impeachment was right of course, but the Dems wimped out early, with N. Pelosi taking it off the table. As one of those folks on that Moyers show exclaimed, 'Nancy Pelosi is WRONG'!
But it won't happen. And whoever's elected will have the same overreaching powers as GWB.
And it may be a Republican, since the Dems seem incapable of doing what they were elected to do, which was to rein in this administration, not just on the war, but over the abuses.
Any choir member or especially choir director worth his or her salt will tell you that Holy Week is especially demanding. I'm a church choir member, and there's a special Wednesday rehearsal for the Good Friday service, Maundy Thursday service PLUS rehearsal for Easter, the aforementioned Good Friday service (Duruflé requiem), then of course, the big one, Easter Sunday. It's for the glory of God, but with all those events AND still recovering from Daylight Saving Time, I'm tired as...heck.
I ask because, when I was in high school, I seemed to be the father confessor figure for any number of people. Everyone entrusted me with their secrets and it was simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting. Often, the teller of the secret mentioned someone else who also shared their secret with me. Once, a young woman for whom I had a mad crush told me about her boyfriend problems, annd I never let on how I felt.
I think LW, at some level, enjoys the role, enjoys being entrusted with details of others' lives. If she really doesn't, she's got to find her inner Nancy Reagan and just say "no, thanks."
Barack's bowling approach is terrible! He needs to get lower, bending his knees as he prepares to release the ball. That way, he'll have a greater chance to avoid the gutter (ball).
I live in Albany, NY, only 150 miles from B'way, but I NEVER get down to The City to see a production; I have a four-year-old. The Tonys are my way of living vicariously through the staged performances.
Also, it helps me to keep track of those folks I know better from television and film. So THAT'S what Mary McCormack, Andrea Martin, and Laura Metcalf have been doing! S. Epatha Merkerson can play something other than a police lieutenant!
I'm not an engineer, but all of the other facts apply: misplace (or outright lose) my wallet, misplace the glasses, misplace my cell phone. Making a list does not help; I misplace the list. A PDA would not help; I'd almost certainly lose it, if I could figure out how it worked; I'm barely functional with the cell phone.
I've wondered about whether I have ADD - I'm more than 20 years older than LW - and sleep, or lack thereof, is definitely a factor.
One of the things that helps me is the backpack. Put the wallet in there. Of course, sometimes I carry something from work to home then forget and carry it back to work.
The other thing that works is putting EVERYTHING I NEED TO DO on my Microsoft Outlook calendar at work as soon as I think of it and have it pop up at least 30 minutes before the event. Make plans at 9 am for lunch at 1 pm? Put in a reminder. Pick up the daughter, which my wife usually does? Need the reminder. Stop at the drug store on the way home? Reminder, plus a rubber band around my wrist. Oh, and it works for birthdays and other things worth recalling, though you'll need more than a 30-minute warning.
Still, I think the most important thing LW needs is the assurance that he is hardly alone.
I live in NYS which has had a no-handheld-cellphone law for a few years. It is the most disobeyed law I've ever experienced, even worse than those going 70 in a 55 zone. Police do random checks, but it's ineffective. It's bad law because it's unenforced, perhaps unenforceable.
That said, the two times I was closest to getting hit as a pedestrian involved cars with drivers on their cellphones not paying attention to the guy in the crosswalk (me).
Write the letter.
Don't assume the recipient will remember the incident.
Yes, it IS all about the LW; it still bothers him.
I tried my work's name - seven words, and it failed. Google handled it. My personal blogs also rank lower on Cuil than Google. What's to love?

I used to lie. Sometimes for no good reason. Then I read the book Lying by Sissela Bok. To say it changed my life is an understatement.
What you've learned is that the lie doesn't work for you. It may work for some sociopaths, but not for you. So be released from the lie. Write the notes. Expect that people will be disappointed or even angry, not because you didn't graduate but because of the lie. Then rectify the situation and get the degree, if at all possible.
I got separated and then divorced. It was for the best, but when she told me she was engaged, it hurt like hell.
If it's possible for him, I think LW should tell her he's going to file for divorce. I suspect the deception about the seriousness of her relationship may come from her own grieving (even if she's deliriously happy in the new relationship) and to try to spare LW pain. But the deception's not working, so LW should let her know he knows so that they can both move on without the added weight of the lie of omission.
