Executive Privilege?

An important fact is whether or not Bush has claimed executive privilege in this case. I think the direction of this story hinges on this point. I mean, did Rove discuss his involvement in this matter with the president? If not, then there wouldn't be a justification for an executive privilege claim, and as mentioned by an earlier poster, Bush hasn't invoked the privilege in this matter. Do you need to correct your post?

My favorite

I like Sam Adams Irish Red. Delicious!

A comment about Mich Ultra: When people say they like it, I think they really mean they don't like beer. It has less taste than water. It seems to be getting very popular.

Obama:

Thanks for the flip-flop, asshole. I am now a bitter gun-clinger in Florida.

Thanks Glenn,

Great piece.

Obama is starting to smell like a turd. Barack, the constitutional law professor, better come up with a better rationale than this for his actions and words over the next few weeks.

Newsweek column: Obama is a wimp.

Michael Hirsh at Newsweek online is calling Obama a wimp. I checked Hirsh's bio: philosophy degree from Tufts. Those are the kind of guys that got beat up in school. Hirsh should try to break in to my house in the middle of the night and I'll blow a hole through him with the gun that I'm clinging to.

One correction

You listed Detroit as a 2007 wildcard.

Original article: Quote of the day

"All that changed after the 1960's"

The idiot skipped over a big chunk of the 20th century. Unions were a powerful political and economic force in the North after the Depression. Their memberships were predominantly democrat. There were plenty of non-catholic democrats in the North.

Nelson FL votes no on Dodd

I called the senator's office this morning and was told Sen. Nelson was in support of Dodd. He just voted NO. I called back and the staffer said he didn't understand his vote.

Remember Philip Rivers?

I thought the Giants made a mistake when they traded Rivers for Manning on Draft Day a few years back. I don't think there are any Giant fans wishing that trade hadn't been made.

Hatch is a total moron

Speech just conluded was full of b.s. He is so out of it, his last words were: "Vote against cloture." He doesn't even know what no on cloture means.

Of course.

Typical Clinton tactic. I hope she gets crushed in South Carolina.

Original article: Fred Thompson drops out

Boy was I wrong.

My prediction from May 31, 2007:

This Fred Thompson character is the perfect candidate for the Republicans. Once the Republican propagandists get behind him, I think he's a shoe in to win the nomination.

Now, if only the rest of these awful repug candidates would concede to the dems.

Probably has to do this crap in SC

He will need a lot of ignorant people to vote for him if he wants to win, so the overt appeals are probably necessary. I don't like it, but the alternative is sit back and lose.

This wasn't your question, but, are there differences between the candidates? In my opinion Huck is a scary hick with a degree from a bible college; Obama is a highly-intelligent, well-educated lawyer with many obstacles to overcome to be elected president. The biggest one is that he is black and white folk are looking for any reason to not vote for him. "He's a black Muslim? Can't vote for him!" I'm white and I hear this kind of crap from white people all the time.

Hucakabee as president?

I stopped reading after the "speeding laws are about morality" crap, too. To me, ideas like that are signs of a person who doesn't think very clearly. There is a traffic light at the intersection to prevent accidents and to help the traffic flow. I try not to turn that into a moral issue. In general, I get bored very quickly when I read about the views of these social conservatives.

The reason his campaign has no money is because no one wants him to be the next president. I wish he would go away.

We need backbone in the White House?

This kind of thinking is why the most reptilian candidate will be the next president.

Ask Centcom to respond?

Maybe the PAO at Centcom would be interested in what a PAO in Iraq is doing. It would be interesting to see if there would be a response (pao@centcom.mil).

Or ask Admiral Fallon for a response:

I adopted my dogs from high-kill shelters

It's a lot easier than dealing with the rescue organizations. I even found a pure-bred australian sheperd puppy. Don't be afraid to visit one because you think you couldn't stand it. The county shelters have to deal with the reality of unwanted dogs and cats, so face it yourself.

Nice letter, I guess.

But Hughes, Bush and the rest don't care what you think, or anyone else.

The average person in this country thinks that torture is something that happens to someone in another country, so they really don't care (especially if the victim is a different color). The republicans know this.

Try this for an open letter:

To the democrats:

The republicans lie about your patriotism and your willingness to defend what America stands for. So feel free to trash the administration and the repub candidates every chance you get. Say that "Rudy (or Mitt or Fred or Bush) has a secret plan to raise your taxes, keep you from having sex, and get you killed by Muslim terrorists." It's simple, it's fear-mongering and it's personal, so the average American can grasp the concepts. The truthfulness doesn't matter, the repubs made that decision long ago.
