  • 14th is Clear for Me

[Read the article: Let's have a revolution! Does July 14 work for you?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We're expecting a baby sometime around then, and I think that the thing to do just before welcoming someone new to the planet is to try to make it a better place. Lay out the green carpet, if you will. So I'm there. With bananas.

  • Double negative?

[Read the article: Why Weldon is sinking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is this an accurate quote from the debate?

"We shouldn't cut and run," Weldon said at the debate. "What we should do is not allow the decisions not to be made by Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld," he said.

If so, it's clear to see why he's losing...implying with tone that he's independent of the administration on Iraq, and with his grammar ceding power directly to those who have misused it so far.

    Good luck, Curt!

  • Santorum covering something?

[Read the article: Santorum's last stand? Blame Casey for Kerry comments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Considering that the guy's name is an anagram for Sauron™, I find it odd that he would equate the Iraq debacle with LotR.

  • Joe Isuzu -- err, Biden

[Read the article: The "best Biden" for president?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is it actually ancient history that this clown was the basis for the "Joe Isuzu" character of commercial fame, he who could not be trusted to tell the truth? Biden was a plagiarist last time he ran for president. Does he think the press would give him a pass this time around? His first opponent will be Joe Biden, circa 1988. If today's Joe Biden manages to defeat the much more entertaining one of that era, he'll still have to run against the Joe Biden who voted to authorize the use of force against Iraq, and he might even have to beat some actual, qualified Democrats as well.

  • But what about the Kraft comparison

[Read the article: The bunny vs. the blue box]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The instructions on Kraft M&C call for 4 tbsp butter -- that's half a stick to you and me. Annie's calls for a pat of butter, or some yoghurt.

If I've got this wrong I apologize, but it seems to me that the comparison in the article is comparing the boxes before preparation.

  • Fall guy named up front

[Read the article: Want change in Iraq? You've already got it]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Boy, Petraeus is brave. He must have taken the job knowing he was going to be the fall guy. The WH can't get through a sentence about Iraq without reminding us that somehow it was all the FNG's idea.

  • Everyone just calm down

[Read the article: Cheney's got a gun, again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He was up here in spring to deliver the West Point commencement speech, and even with all those guns around, he didn't shoot anyone.

That said, if you're looking for some good Kevlar, M&M Army-Navy is on Main Street in Poughkeepsie.
