Civility Isn't What I Voted For

Civility between THESE Republicans and the Democrats?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....HA!

That's funny.

I needed that laugh this morning.

Now then...

I voted in November for the Democrats up and down the ticket because I wanted to add my voice to the millions and tens of millions crying out for a less dumb-ass, more accountable, less warmongering and less..."icky" government. Less partisan? Sure. That would be nice. But only after the foxes have been run out of the henhouse. Only after the filth has been cleansed from our political process and NON-partisan caretakers have been voted in. And if it leads us to an impeachment trial where the chief thugs are finally held accountable, SO BE IT. I think anyone can see that the impeachment of Bill Clinton was nothing more than a dog and pony show of hypocrites bent on destroying a quite capable Chief Executive, despite his shortcomings, and installing one of their own. Which they have done. Bi-partisanship is nice if you can get it, but it's not required. I didn't vote for it, and civility be damned. One cannot be civil with people who deal only in the basest form of discourse. One cannot be civil with brainwashed, ideological fanatics. Until more sane people are in Congress, civility, laudable as it may be has to take a back seat.

Being A Mets fan...

I have to go with my hometown team. It's hard to know how this will shake out coming out of Spring Training. Glavine looks sharp, but he has off moments as does El Duque. I guess you have to wonder about the rotation. Lots of unproven and unknown commodities after the first two slots. I do like Oliver Perez, though. He may have found the right fit with pitching coach Rick Peterson. John Maine and Mike Pelfrey could surprise, but my real worry is the bullpen. It's not looked good in camp so far, and the Mets have lost games they could have won because the bullpen couldn't shut the other team down. There's no doubt the firepower is intact. David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes are the big guns along with Carlos Delgado. If the other keys like Shawn Green and Moises Alou click, you'll have a murderer's row lineup just like last year. Defense looks strong in the infield. And a word about Delgado: I just happen to think that while he may not be Keith Hernandez (no one in fact could be), or even John Olerud (the last Gold Glover to handle first for the Mets), he's not terrible at first. Check out his career fielding pct. Not awful. Which means he gets most of what you throw at him. It's just not particularly flashy. If flashy is what makes Gold Glove candidates these days, then I don't see how Albert Pujols wins, because he's not necessarily about flash either. He's just a bigger target at 6'5" and massive. And that's not to take anything away from Albert. I just think these guys are sluggers who play first base, not first baseman who can hit. There is a difference. All that to say this: the Mets will score a lot of runs and do a lot of damage offensively, but in those close games, I'm afraid they might give me nightmares. Still, you gotta like the Mets because of one thing: Willie Randolph. He only knows one way to play the game. To win. He won't tolerate a 10-20 record when it counts.

Scraping the Bottom of the Barrel

So...now FOX Noise has to go north to sink further down into the sludge that is their habitat. When is someone going to wise up and put this amoral, junk-ass, "news outlet" out of business?

My God. Some people will eat animal excrement if it's covered with chocolate. This is clearly desperation on the part of the network that has seen all but the most ardently radical whack-jobs leave the fold for saner pastures. Every cult needs a slut high-priestess, I guess. Since Ann Coulter is getting, shall we say, a bit hollowed out, they need some new blood to feed the beast. So comes now this pretty package of trouble from the Great White North. This can't end well.

Someone Who Mimics "bushspeak"

Has no business in the US Senate or anywhere near the US political system in any capacity. He shouldn't even be elected dog-catcher. Unbelievable the sheer number of ill-spoken, intellectually deficient IDIOTS we have supposedly "serving" us, starting with the president.

May God soon deliver us from this dark age of ignorance and incompetence.
