Joan

"Re: Klytus, we've had our spats, but he has more integrity than all 3 of you Republicans whining about my words to him. Poco, I'm sorry I disappointed you, I'm the same writer and editor I've always been, I call it like I see it, I take shots from the left and right, and I'm proud of my integrity. I also don't hang out on someone else's blog all day to make fun of them. To each his own."

You may call it like you see it but it is clear that you do not see it as well as you think. Why is it that liberals (note I do not say Democrats) automatically declare anyone who does not agree with them "republican"? It demonstrates an extreme bias on your part. The kind of bias that blinds you to truth - absolutely not a real liberal's mindset. You will not find in any of the hundreds of my posts on this forum any support for republicans, though plenty of derision. However, you and many like you cannot envision a world where someone who disagrees with you is not your enemy, there you label me republican. It is beneath a real thinker.

On the other hand (you readers do this and then decide who has more "integrity"), please read a few posts by the statesman Klytus, and you will note the bulk of them are inanities, poo poo jokes, and grade-school taunts. Is this what you laud Joan?

>>"I also don't hang out on someone else's blog all day to make fun of them. To each his own."

Is that what you think of Salon, Joan? Your personal blog. Perhaps you have an inflated view of your importance in relation to that of all the other Salon writers. You said that a little too easily, a little too quickly. A Freudian slip, perhaps. You think yours is the only material on Salon I read??

By the way, I (hoping to demonstrate just tiny bit of integrity) at least pay for my entertainment (note the star next to my screen name).

>>"I'm the same writer and editor I've always been..."

No. Not since the white hot hatred you heaped on another self-made woman, Sarah Palin. Never before did I notice you trying so hard to molecularly deconstruct another human being (like her or not).

Perhaps Salon's 35 cent per share stock would do a little better if you were not about alienating half of the country's population. You have not sold a single share for three days. You do know that it's possible to be liberal and inclusive, don't you? (hmmm, I thought that was one of the pillars of liberalism. Maybe not...)

Original article: Obama's timid liberalism

Before it is over

this guy will be the most reviled president in US history, hated by left and right.

We used old corn cobs

Used? We still use 'em. Paper does not rot nearly as fast, and you have to dig another out-house hole sooner...

Here's how to tell if some is from the south: If they get these "instructions" with no reference as to the actual subject matter.

First, you use a brown one, then you use a white one to see if you need another brown one.

All seriousness aside, I do find the practice of simply wiping poop off your pooping area to be a rather disgusting method of "cleaning" one's self. If you got poop on your hands would you just wipe it off? Granted we don't eat with our butts, but I think you get the idea. I have looked into getting a "post construction" bidet toilet seat that works with any toilet, but the heated water ones (I can't imagine wanting to spray that area with cold water) cost $400.00 and up.

The only real question I have is, OK so you don't use TP to clean up with when you have a bidet, but what do you dry off with (considering it may not have done a perfect job)?

Wow!

It looks like a bunch of right wing republican radicals HAVE TAKEN OVER SALON.

So, I guess

you and Malkin have something in common. I seem to note a number of Salonistas getting a little tired of your hatchet jobs as well.

It doesn't

You are using a few statistics to support a lie. Everyone knows how easy that is to do.

One question: Where is the equivalent of the Mayo Clinic, or Johns Hopkins in Canada, Europe?

Answer: Nowhere. Only we have those kinds of leading research facilities, because our healthcare system has the money to do that level of research. If Obama has his way, you can kiss that goodbye, because it is profit motivated, and socialism isn't.

Original article: The heat is on Bill Gates

Gates foundation has no program to fight global warming

Maybe it's because he isn't that stupid. Buffet is doing it to turn a profit from the idiots.

Original article: This Modern World

remember, nothing motivates the citizens like hysterical paranoia.

"This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse"

-Barack Obama

Ahhhhhhh! We're all gonna die if we don't Pass Obama's stimulus bill NOW! We will never recover from the coming economic CATASTROPHE!

This is hope over fear? Seems like this comic applies at least somewhat in both directions.

Original article: I was a teenage socialist!

The media's silly fixation??

Joan, it's YOUR media that seems to be fixated on it! There are three articles in Salon with Socialism in the headlines...

As for the rest of us, socialism is view as a failed political system of second world countries. That gives me pause... Not you? Obama is a fake egalitarian, that is, he does not actually care if equality happens, he only cares about the political power that comes from promoting it.
