toekutter

"And Rush isn't a "private citizen"; he's a public figure by virtue of having a syndicated radio talk show. But thanks for the faux outrage."

OK toekutter. Now you are just displaying sheer stupidity. It took me all of three seconds to find this:

"A private citizen is one who does not possess or exercise any authority or power of court, government, law enforcement, or military." --http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_private_citizen

"Noun 1. private citizen - a citizen who does not hold any official or public position" --http://www.thefreedictionary.com/private+citizen

But thanks for admitting that Obama is indeed attacking him. Oh, and thanks for the faux superiority.

teresa

"Come on poco, you know better than that, there is no one on this planet who has bigger character flaws than Rush Limbaugh."

A. Better than what? Let your rage cool, and try to generate a coherent sentence.

B. Once again, I implore anyone here to demonstrate by my words that I am a Limbaugh supporter. All else is biased opinion (seems to be rampant today).

C. Teresa, using your logic, the President of the United States has the right to publicly smear anyone with character flaws? How's you character looking these days. I hope you measure up to Obama's standards. You could be the next person on his list.

This is too easy

I'm going home. This is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Later, oh righteous liberals.

One last thing: Joan Walsh, you are a major disappointment lately. I tell my conservative friends that I have a paid subscription to a liberal magazine, but not just any shallow, foul mouthed liberal magazine. I tell them that I subscribe to Salon, because I think of it as generally better run and as having more intellectual integrity than most. Your obvious machinations on the part of the current political apparatus is seriously straining that assessment.

Signed quite sincerely,

Poco --But of course, you know my real name.

Why?

Maybe he thinks he still has a chance. Not likely. On the flip side, when did he stop being a jerk?

School 'em Klytus!

"try

asswipe"

You are so clever, such a scholar! What are you 12, 13? Please spout some more mildly annoying non-sequiturs, it adds so much to the discussion. I picture Klytus as a screaming chimp, jumping up and down in front of his computer, periodically mashing some keys on the keyboard and flinging poo at the monitor. And our own Joan Walsh has the gall to egg him on... How sad for Salon.

And, BTW, I am no fan of Creepy McCain. He was such a poor choice for the repubs. I hope libs realize that is why BO got the job. If the repubs had run a viable candidate, we would not have "the first mixed race president" (though I understand that Bush is actually English and Irish).

Dear Joan,

There was a time when I had a degree of respect for you and your opinions. For what it is worth, that time has passed. In your blog yesterday, you actually wrote "School 'em Klytus".

For those of you who don't know who Klytus is, he is a regular respondent in these forums. The problem is, he comes across as a 12 or 13 year old who periodically spouts mildly annoying, typically profane non sequiturs. He adds absolutely nothing of value to the discussion. I picture Klytus as a screaming chimp, jumping up and down in front of his computer, periodically mashing some keys on the keyboard and flinging poo at the monitor. And you, Joan, disappointingly egg him on... How sad for Salon.

I am convinced that at some point those who run Salon made a deliberate decision to moderate these forums once they had become so full of violence and profanity. Joan, are you on a crusade to undermine that decision. It's one thing to use pointed humor, cynicism, or even a little derision when it is warranted, but I thought the days of pointless profanity were over. Even though I am philosophically conservative, I have recommended Salon to my friends as a "thinking man's" liberal point of view. Did you sell out when your stock tanked, or was I simply mistaken about your journalistic integrity from the start? Are you really just a tool for the Democrat party? I pay a subscription fee, but I won't support a democrat shill, just as I don't support republican shills.

Concerning your suggestion for Klytus to "school 'em" and Salon's concerted efforts to continuously gouge certain individuals (even another self made woman - shameful) it is obvious your standards are falling and you owe something to someone.
