How sad...

Welcome to the world you built.

I have been married 27 years, and it only gets better with each passing year. We are a "traditional" couple (i.e. fascist, neocon, repressive, male dominated, throwback, religious, and whatever other negative term many liberals would describe us with). We agreed at the start that I would be the man, and that she would be the woman. That I would be the manly dad, and that she would be the feminine mom, that there would have to be one person in the house, that when all things ended in a stalemate would make a decision (that person was me and it was never a fun thing to do). We decided that I would work while our children were young, and that she would stay at home with them (when they get in trouble, they still call her first). We were considered poor by some of our friends, but we did not care much; it was a plan, and we were sticking to it. It has paid off handsomely.

We are both educated, and she has always had a career, even when she was not working full-time. It qualified her for the directorship that she now holds, since our children no longer need her full-time.

When you grow up with someone, as I have grown up with her, sex is a far less significant part of the equation (though ours is, and has always been great). We love each other like a drowning man loves air. I am scheduled to die first, but our involvement with community will assure her that she will never be too lonely.

Our relationship is a radical departure from the ego oriented lives that so many seem to live today. I know it's crazy, but it sounds like more of you should try it.

FALSE PREMISE

The market is not largely free in the U.S. You can say that the manipulated market has "failed" to some degree (obviously not entirely, or none of us would have jobs - the jobless rate in my area ((1.6 million people)) is still below 5%, and those 5% are generally too young or idiots). Whereas I agree that some degree of regulation is required to protect the safety of the public, we long ago went beyond what is reasonable, and the part that is failing is the part that is most controlled by the ever failing government.

Mark my words, it will get much worse under Obama.

I can't tell you how vastly disappointed I was

when a room full of Hampton University students sprang out of their seats and cheered for a murderer, simply because he was black, and got away with it.

Keith, if there is any celebrating being done, at least it is for justice, and not for the opposite thereof. If your folk want real acceptance in this world, they have to change. It's the same thing that turns off most whites to David Duke. We don't celebrate him because he is white, we scorn him because he is a hateful bigot.

Do you think that white people would be happy if Blagojevich were to get off? On the flip side, there is Marion Barry. Reelected after he was exposed to be a criminal.

Teach your people Keith. Do something good for them and the rest of us too. We are tired of black bigotry.

The headline should read

"But what did you expect? He's a politician. They're all the same. All rotten to the core. Anyone that thinks otherwise is the truest form of dupe.

The author contradicts himself in his own headline...

Probably nothing...

...questions raised where there are none

You can't refer to the same thing as probably nothing and nothing in the same sentence. If there are no questions, then there is nothing, not probably nothing being hidden. By suggesting that Obama might be hiding something, it must follow that there are at least some questions.

More double speak from the press...

How the hell did Rick Warren get inauguration tickets?

You're kidding, right? What's it gonna take for you folks to come to the realization that Obama is an extreme opportunist? He's just another politician.

Is it just me

Or does it appear that Mr. Tomorrow would just love the "collapse of capitalism"? Be careful what you wish for comrade. Have some more vodka. It will clear your head.

FredRated - Thank goodness!

It's good to know that at least one person here thinks TT is a capitalist.

Why she is making her celebrity her main credential for the job?

Because she is a scumbag, just like the rest of her family.

meh...

We said the same thing when Slick Willie left, we'll say it again when BO leaves.

So, a stupid, self centered little girl

made a baby that will forever know that it is the result of a few minutes of careless, horny activity between two spoiled brats. congratulations. yay. really something to celebrate.

In reality it is an act of shame and sadness. It's hard enough growing up knowing you are wanted, the result of a deliberate expression of love between two responsible, dedicated adults. How much harder is it when you know you are just the byproduct of two sweaty, zitfaced snots doing the nasty? In their extreme egotism, they made another person. An unwanted person. Don't congratulate them. Don't celebrate them.

Scorn them hard. Real hard.

Shame On You Glenn Greenwald!

Shame on you for presenting the false premise that either party gives a rat's butt about the Constitution. Our government has been shredding the constitution since Lincoln, and anybody who is not deluded will admit it. The federal government was NEVER allowed by the constitution to have the kind of brute force power it currently has. I once made a remark about how our country is sliding toward socialism, and one lucid Salon poster said "Socialism? What's the big deal with socialism, it's here, been here, and here to stay."

If you have any decency, you will stop suggesting that the democrats are any more interested in the Constitution than are the republicans, unless of course by constitution you mean gay marriage, et al, and by interested you mean whatever will get them elected.
