"That was the gasoline on the fire." And what started the fire?
Here's what Investor's Business Daily says (that other racist, lying, drivel spouting retard like me. You know, that hack media outlet that you and Lynx are so superior in intelligence to):
"Age-old standards of banking prudence got thrown out the window. In their place came harsh new regulations requiring banks not only to lend to uncreditworthy borrowers, but to do so on the basis of race.
These well-intended rules were supercharged in the early 1990s by President Clinton. Despite warnings from GOP members of Congress in 1992, Clinton pushed extensive changes to the rules requiring lenders to make questionable loans.
Lenders who refused would find themselves castigated publicly as racists. (sounds familiar) As noted this week in an IBD editorial, no fewer than four federal bank regulators scrutinized financial firms' books to make sure they were in compliance.
Failure to comply meant your bank might not be allowed to expand lending, add new branches or merge with other companies. Banks were given a so-called "CRA rating" that graded how diverse their lending portfolio was.
It was economic hardball.
"We have to use every means at our disposal to end discrimination and to end it as quickly as possible," Clinton's comptroller of the currency, Eugene Ludwig, told the Senate Banking Committee in 1993.
And they meant it.
In the name of diversity, banks began making huge numbers of loans that they previously would not have. They opened branches in poor areas to lift their CRA ratings.
Meanwhile, Congress gave Fannie and Freddie the go-ahead to finance it all by buying loans from banks, then repackaging and securitizing them for resale on the open market.
That's how the contagion began."
Or one might say: that is the fire and the gasoline. But you-all go ahead and believe that your liberal leaders are god-like and faultless. It's what you do.
Tell it to those idiots over at Investor's Business Daily.
It's so funny. You people make claims that I can only blame democrats when my posts commonly blame ALL politicians for the better part of this country's ills. Meanwhile, jonathanseer does, with crystal clarity, exactly what you other loving, tolerant, embracing liberals accuse me of doing, yet no one calls him on it.
You are, without question, the most egregious hypocrites on the planet. You indict your movement with ever breath, every statement, and the only "defense" is that I am a crazy, deranged "republican" (which you cannot, in any way prove). Your methods are those of schoolyard bullies and are demonstrated time and time again, resulting in the moderation of even these very open forums. It is you who are deluded and living in exceptional denial.
to believe anything about a political campaign is true (unless it benefits the candidate) or genuine. Judging by many of the responses posted here, there may actually be some buyers for the Brooklyn Bridge out there.
Here is the rule:
When there is money or power at stake, trust no one. Trust. No. One.
Or be a loser that the rest of us can get a chuckle out of.
the left is treating her with love and kindness. Get a grip. It goes both ways surprise, surprise. Haven't you noticed that Salon has done a hatchet job on her every day for about the last three weeks. Now there's some good, down-home, tender loving, tolerant, liberal kindness. Even Billy boy has noticed the vitriol, and has actually come to her defense.
What a hypocritical cartoon, Keef. Liberals hate just as well as anyone else, only in this case, most of the Salon articles are lampoonishly funny. "I'm a convict she wouldn't spring from jail, so I don't like her. She's a meanie..." Wooo, now there's a substantial criticism.
"The left, by and large, plays by the rules and expects everyone else to:"
You, my friend, are either utterly decieved, disingenous, arrogant, naive, or just so blindingly biased that you seem to actually believe your own words. Do you realize how exceptionally ridiculous what you said is? The left "plays by the rules"?!? Politicians on the "left" would urinate on their mothers graves, just like the politicians on the right would, if it would get them elected. I sure hope you are kidding. If not, I feel sorry for you. I really mean that. Anyone who goes through this life so deluded as to think that Pelosi, Bush, Cheney, Murtha, etc and their operatives are just fine people who happen to be politicians, are the very crop of idiots that got them elected in the first place. And do they care about you? You are nothing more than a statistic to them. A very, very stupid, easily influenced pawn. A political resource, that if fed the right crap will vote for them. The system that is the one where men rule other men is evil to the core.
Grow up. Grow a brain.
You still have not refuted Investor's Business Daily. It's because you can't, so you just resort to name calling. Another tactic of the loving, intellectual, tolerant left.
Having performed in outdoor patriotic musicals similar to the "Up With People" show of the seventies. I know first hand the eye popping, vein bursting, white hot hatred that the loving left can spew when they disagree with somone. I have seen it too many times. I have experienced evil and can readily recognize it, even if only in print. You and yours will lose, and I don't just mean this election. I mean life in general. Yours is already a sad existence.
will be in their element. From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
I could not agree more. I was learning UI design about the time the Microsoft Press published their first UI book. The Facebook interface is one of the worst designs I have ever seen. Very frustrating to use. Maybe it's based on feedback from Ritalin users only.
