You are the second lawyer that I have heard this from. The other is a close friend, and respected environmental atty in a large firm. He says he is one of the most cynical people he knows, due to the crap he has experienced in the legal system. According to him, party affiliation makes no difference.

George Bush is actually an insanely intelligent agent of Satan. He is responsible for all wrongs currently not ascribed to the Democratic party. He actually TEAMED with Bill Clinton to scam girls into private parties in the Oval Office. He is Hitler's grandfather (not bound by time or space), and his son. A black hole exists inside his head, so evil it does not let even light escape. All is darkness as the great lord of evil rules in America!!

If George Bush worries you, you are indeed easily intimidated. GB is just a teeny, tiny piece of the sickness that grips this country.

I've often wondered why the left hates Bush so much. He is not a conservative, not even close. He's more an opportunistic socialist. I have never had any confidence in his religious utterances (remember his candid moment when he called some reporter a major league a-hole. That's no sign of piety to me). His wife smokes like a chimney out of public view. Doing it is non-Christian enough (would Y'shuah smoke?), hiding it compounds the issue. His kids are hard drinking hellions. Shoot, this sounds like a good ole liberal troupe to me, rather than a family led by one who adheres to and promotes the teachings of Y'shuah.

Even by Sean Hannity's own admission, the republican party has failed the right (yes, SEAN HANNITY). Michael Savage hates the republicans about as much as he hates the liberals, and he is certainly no liberal. Since Bush has helped the left so much (and Clinton, the right, oddly enough - gay issues, etc.), why do you all hate him so viscerally? Is it because Gore did not win? I can tell you that both Gore and Kerry are lackeys to, if possible, even a greater extent than Bush, and Gore is so stupid. He's the son of a bigoted southern politician. Do you actually think his family likes gays and minorities? Please try to be more rational and reasonable. Just a word on " tax breaks for the rich". I would bet your next paycheck that the vast majority of the computer owning/using/litterate readers of this publication fall into the "rich" category (basically, houshold incomes of $70,000.00 or more).

I just don't know why you-all hate a guy who represents (in reality, if not in rhetoric) so many of the things you consider important.

But I did not expect it to be in the form of attempted humor. Now, understand that I enjoy funny stuff as much as the next redneck (Animal House, Monty Python, Will Farrell [sometimes], Jon Stewart, etc), but I just did not find this humorous, probably because I dislike all politicians equally, and because it is clear the writer has no experience in the topic. I think Cary's columns are funnier than this. I suppose one reason I find it un-funny, is because so much as been made of it. White House reporters repeatedly (ad nauseam) asking subtle questions like "DO YOU MEAN TO TELL US THAT THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, DICK (RICHARD) CHENEY, PULLED THE TRIGGER ON A DEADLY WEAPON AND SHOT A POOR INNOCENT FELLOW HUMAN IN THE FACE? HE WAS 'THE SHOOTER'?".

I mean, for you candy butts that have never been hunting, or have never shot a weapon, here's some news: IT HAPPENS, IT AIN'T NEWS! Perhaps, on a local level only. If it was national news, there would be plenty to write about, come hunting season.

Here's the other thing that irritates me: writing on topics about which you are clueless, and not fact checking, to whit: "What's a little buckshot in the face?" A little "buckshot" to the face would render one faceless! Buckshot is about as big around as your pinky, and is designed to kill... BUCKS! (as in deer, or other large game). Chaney shooting someone in the face with "buckshot" would have certainly been news.

Birdshot (as Cary so clearly points out, they were hunting quail), for hunting quail is less than the diameter of a common BB (if you don't know what a BB looks like, stop reading and go polish your Birkenstocks), and is designed to kill a small bird, and not destroy it in the process. Its effective range is about 25 yards.

Since I am an excellent judge of what is funny for humor's sake, and this is clearly not very humorous, I think the reason that some of you have enjoyed this so much, is that you actually delight in the idea of someone in the political party that you oppose shooting someone else in the face. You are laughing at his pain. How sad is that?
