  • I second that Boo!

I'm ready for anything on April 1, but not on March 31st! Come on, man!

  • Anti-vaccine, not anti-thimerosal

[Read the article: McCain, Obama, Clinton push dangerous vaccine-autism myth]

With all due respect, you are not looking at the full picture when you say that the anti-vaccine crowd is worried about the thimerosal, the mercury-based preservative. I chose to postpone vaccinations in my children until they were two, and then I started a one shot per month vaccine program with the pediatrician's support. I believe that the reason children are having a bad reaction, in some cases autism, to the vaccines, is not the preservative, but rather the large quantities of vaccines given at one time. Some children's immune systems cannot handle the high level onslaught, which then manifests in immune-deficiency generated symptoms/disorders.

  • Finally

[Read the article: Journalist seeking paycheck? Try India]

Hopefully they will bring foreign reporting style and structure to the Indian newspapers...it is so hard to slog through a Times of India or The Hindu without cringing at the grammar and sentence structure. Should be a breath of fresh air.

  • Foreigners

[Read the article: The "bitter sea" of Chinese life]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So, Foreigners is not okay, but Alien is? Huh. Foreigner has amways sounded more pleasant to my ear than the American norm of using Alien for anyone who's not an american national. I keep checking for a green tint to the skin and antennae.

  • Cruz's breasts

[Read the article: "Elegy" for a topless bombshell]

I believe the reason that he looks at her for as long as he does is because he is so drawn to the freshness and newness of her body, compared to his. Isn't that the point of the book..that he is a dying animal in his last throes of life, grasping at whatever he can to keep death at bay? And here she is, just starting her life.

  • Loved the book

    [Read the article: "Blindness"]

Have to say, and it looks like I am in the minority here, I loved the book. After reading this review though, I'm not sure I want to sit through the movie.
