  • How do you know statement C is "unquestionably" false?

[Read the article: The unresolved story of ABC News' false Saddam-anthrax reports]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Glenn:

Great column. But you wrote that the below statement, by ABC News, was "completely...demonstrably and unquestionably" false:

"Only one country, Iraq, has used bentonite to produce biological weapons."

How do you know this is false? To disprove it, don’t you have to prove that either (a) other countries have used Bentonite to produce biological weapons or (b) Iraq hasn’t done that?

    Thanks.

  • Snow comment not this year

[Read the article: Right-wing noise machine: Plame not covert]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Glenn, in the third update, you wrote that Tony Snow made his comment earlier this year. He actually made those comments in February 2006, a few months BEFORE he became White House spokesman.

  • hypocrisy?

[Read the article: One-sided rules of political debate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Glenn:

I'm a huge fan. But how can you write a blog criticizing people for focusing on something trivial when, in doing so, you commit the same act?

  • It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world

[Read the article: The Tom Friedman of 2002 has not gone anywhere]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And if Freidman can see the benefit of our adopting a "crazy" mindset, then surely he couldn't hold it against our enemies if they did the same, so he's apparently advocating a world in which we all try to "out-crazy" one another. With nuclear weapons.

And he is leading by example, with his crazy-ass columns.

  • Head of Clinton's FCC slams Bush for telecom immunity

[Read the article: George Bush told the truth yesterday]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Woah.

Check out what the head of the FCC under Bill Clinton is saying about telecom immunity:

"Why doesn't the president just pardon [the telecom carriers] the way he did Scooter Libby and forget about Congress? I think what’s really going on is the people in the government don’t want to admit what happened."

  • Not bank--tank

[Read the article: Journalists, McCain and the false Iran/al-Qaida link]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

As ramoncreager says in comments regarding Chuck Todd's statement that "[McCain]'s got enough of that [national security expertise] in the bank, at least with the media":

Really, what kind of bank is Mr. Todd talking about?

    .............

I think he meant "in the tank" with the media, not in the bank. Just a typo.

  • Who are the corp executives?

[Read the article: CNN/MSNBC reporter: Corporate executives forced pro-Bush, pro-war narrative]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Glenn:

Is it possible to work up a list of the names of the corporate executives you are talking about here? (The one who wrote the memo about Donahue's difficult face, etc.) And then we could track them, see what they're doing now, and keep reminding them about how uphappy we customers are with their product.
