  • Errors...

[Read the article: Did Bush lie about Rove -- or did Rove lie to him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I'm afraid Paul I is right...

"If the report is true, Bush may have lied. And if the report is true, Bush may have lied."

One of those report is trues has to be "report is false"

    No big.

  • Did anyone else notice??

[Read the article: Finale wrap-up: "Veronica Mars"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

(Spoiler Alert...avert your eyes if you haven't consulted the Oracle at TiVo.)

After the Hitman finishes off Aaron Echolls. He calls Duncan Kane. The lines went by so fast, I wasn't sure I heard them right. But did I hear...???

    KANE: CW?

    HITMAN: It's a done deal.

(For those not in the know, CW not only being the hitman's name, but also the future Paramount-Warner Network that Veronica Season 3 will hopefully be on.)

Should we Veronica Fans be taking that as a hint as far as the Show's future, and that it is a positive one???

  • This is getting ridiculous...

[Read the article: Black vs. "black"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Who cares what Debra Dickerson thinks about Barack Obama's racial identity. Her opinion really doesn't could in this matter. (And as further commentary to Ms. Dickerson's previous writings, I find her hit and miss. I'm sure Gary Kamiya, being one of the people paying her salary, finds her a unique and fresh voice. I find her pretty typical among some black opinion makers, and thus rather ordinary. Mr. Kamiya needs to get out more.)

    But to continue...

Likewise, who cares what Gary Kamiya thinks about Barack Obama's racial identity. His opinion, likewise, doesn't mean squat in this equation.

And if you're reading this, YOUR opinion doesn't matter in all this. Neither does mine.

Why are we wasting any time debating about one man's (albeit one very important man's) level and state of self-awareness???

The only person who's opinion matters when it comes to Barack Obama's racial identity is, of course, Barack Obama. And he's told me all I need to know about his racial identity through his thoughts, his deeds and his actions.

People on all sides are projecting all they want onto Mr. Obama. Too black. Not black enough. Too white. Not white enough. Whatever.

He has challenged every stereotype thrown at him, and he will continue to defy yours.

  • Here's a word for Mr. Luntz..."useless"

[Read the article: How to speak Republican]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't know of any other way to put it, but...who exactly died and made Frank Luntz the word police? I think the American people are perfectly capable of judging for themselves what Politicians are saying, and what they mean by saying it. The last thing they need is another talking head sucking up the oxygen.

Uhhh, Salon. Between Dickerson, Kamiya and this gem, not your best week...and it's only TUESDAY!!

  • If Bonds is your hero, it says a lot about you...and none of it good...

[Read the article: Thank you, Hank Aaron]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If Bonds is, as you put it, is the "hero of your midlife baseball romance" you clearly care little about Baseball, and know even less about the game and its history.

Bonds cheated. Period. End of discussion. (I regard Game of Shadows as the proof of my claim). Bonds used performance enhancing drugs in a quest to usurp the Home Run record from a legitimate American Hero. Hank Aaron accomplished his record, with FBI Snipers in the roof of Atlanta Fulton-County Stadium, and with undercover agents covering his daughter at Fisk University. Let's see that weasel, Bonds do any of that! Oh, sorry. He's too busy whining about his privacy, his knees and Bob Costas, then going out and dressing like Paula Abdul for his half-wit reality show for ESPN.

The fact that you worship this guy is both sad and pathetic, but I've come to expect nothing less from San Francisco Giants fans. You who callously worship at this man's altar at the expense of the game I used to love. Well fine, you're in last place in the NL West, you dance with joy at a now meaningless record, and you're cheating hero will be out of S.F. next year, if not indicted for perjury. How's that taste?

Bonds isn't the only culprit here. I blame sycophantic media types, (like you), who cover Bond's !@#$ at all times. I blame the Player's Association, for treating Steroid use as a "privacy" issue. I blame Bud Selig for turning a blind eye to the Home Run explosion that was CLEARLY drug fueled, and then not fighting terribly hard to get a Steroid testing regime in place, when the rest of the sporting world was doing so. And most of all, I blame the fans (also, you) for lapping this crap up like it was sunshine.

Baseball was once a great game that used to have some relevance in American Society. You two deserve each other.

  • You don't get to tell me when I should or should not be offended...

[Read the article: Reexamining the Ferraro fracas]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Newsflash, Mr. Koppelman, African-Americans are perfectly capable of determining for themselves when they are, or are not going to gauge a statement by anyone as racist. On top of that they are more than capable of determining an appropriate level of outrage for ourselves. Your guidance in the matter is unwarranted and unwelcome.

As an African-American, I certainly don't need you telling me whether or not I have your "permission" (certainly the impression you left in this article) to be offended, how much I should be offended, or whether or not I've overreacted. You can quote all the Chris Rock you want, but you are not in my shoes, and you certainly have yet to walk an inch in them.

Ferraro comments were racist, and have offended a great number of my fellow African-Americans (no, not all). The Clinton's campaign CONTINUED use of race as a dividing line is problematic to say the least, and is forcing me and my fellows to reevaluate whether we can support her in the General Election should, by some miracle, win or steal the nomination. Thus, I don't think this story is getting ENOUGH attention, and if you have a problem with that tough.

I just re-upped with Salon for the coming year, and I'm starting to regret it.

  • Quite possibly...

[Read the article: What's wrong with Obama's FightTheSmears.com]

This was quite possibly, the most ridiculous article ever posted to Salon.
