You're looking for a democrat with integrity. No luck yet, it seems.
Well Glenn,
In regards to your search..."for an Obama supporter who (a) defends his decision to suppress those photos but also (b) criticized him when, two weeks earlier, he announced that he would release those photos.
Maybe you should look to see what happens to coutiers who criticize the oligarch. What's going on in Iran might give you a little idea. Our elected officials aren't out to commit political suicide and that's exactly what it would be. The speaker has made that clear.
I'm glad you're having such a hard time swallowing Obama's continuation of so many of Bush's "abhorred" policies. Using all these as campaign vehicles and then quickly doing an about face shows him to be strictly the political animal he is. Watch the "no taxes on the middle class" get qucikly flushed next. Almost as if it were never said.
As far as your (and Obama's) concern that "The last thing that I want to do is to have the United States be a foil for those forces inside Iran who would love nothing better than to make this an argument about the United States,"
They blame us anyway.
Fawfamily
One can as easily make the argument that Obama's silence was a green light from the U.S. (along with his Cairo speech)for the mullah's to crack down on the protestors. What's clear is that as Obama maintained his cowardly silence, other western nations were speaking out against the election and the murderous suppression by the Iranian regime. America, the beacon of freedom, has become an appeasing nation for a president more concerned with his own agenda and ego than shining the light of freedom. Our only hope is that the Iranian people will take succor from europes strength and that Obama begins to notice the shift in the political winds and develop a back bone (or at the least a neural tube).
You are nuts, terry, you think Obama got it just right, fawfamily--you think your so open minded to debate and an independent thinker yet your support for obama is based on your feeling that he waited until the right time. Any earlier "medaling" (sic) would have played his hand. You guys are never wrong. (Your like that idiot Krugman who thinks the stimulus isn't working because Obama didn't run us into deeper debt.)
The fact is obama has no moral ground to stand on after running around the world apologizing for America and being so willing to meet with tyranical leaders. Your decontructive marxist beliefs have "come home to roost" and are manifest in your idol's inability to make a proper moral judgement.
Yes he's quite the revolutionary. Look at the cowardly stand he's taken on Iran, no other American president has shown the audacity to tkae such a cowardly stand.
This plays right into the left's ambiguity on what's right and wrong and Obama's willingness to legitamize a terroist state. There is not a whole lot that's right about importing Hamas murderers(Jimmy "let's take them off the terrorist roles" Carter's friends) into your country to violently suppress a popular, peaceful uprising.
The people being shot and beaten in the streets of Iran probably disagree with Obama on what the definition of "stimulating debate" might be.
It's going to take magic to get re-elected if he succeeds in implementing his ridiculous spending package and then printing money to pay for it (fed agrees to buy wothless U.S. bonds). It's going to take some strong juju to ward off the inflation that results from such irresposiblity. Nothing like a good round of inflation to reduce debt all the wwhile screwing your citizens. What a guy! It didn't look to me like BO had much magic going for him or that he had a lot of 'shoot' in him, he looked tired and irritated to have to be standing up there explaining himself to us.
You're already starting to eat your own. It's going to be a pleasure to watch!
"It's time to say there has never been one job created by Republican tax cuts for businesses and the wealthy."
Funny, after Reagan's tax cuts unemployment went from a high of 10.8% in Dec. '82 (a result of Carter's malaise) to 7.0% in two years and below 6% in '87. GDP grew 23% in 5 years. Tax cut's provide jobs. While substantial government spending that provides real jobs is beneficial, it can not be sustained for the long run.
Pelosi and the Democrats screwed Obama and worse, they screwed America. That was not a stimulus package, it was a government give away to increased budgets and bigger government. Why in God's name do we bitch about the government and then want them to take over more and more of our daily lives. Once those budgets are increased does anyone really think they'll shrink back to pre-stimulus levels.
By the way, here's what Murtha's office sent me Friday as a statement from him:
"We currently don't have a maximum security prison, but if we did, sure I'd be willing to incarcerate them if it means the immediate closure of the disastrous Guantanamo detention facility."
Are you kidding me, Murtha is sure going out on a limb with that. Hell, you could offer to take them in but alas, you don't have a maximum security prison in your home.
Here's a link, it's only 15 minutes.

The Titanic was supposed to be unsinkable. You think the architects would admit the buildings were structurally responsible, you idiot.
Just watched Fitna, maybe all you multi-culturalist give peace a chancers should watch it. Not much good being for peace when the barbarians are sawing your head off.
Keeping America safe doesn't mean we have to spend years, millions of dollars and risk judge's and prosecutors lives to gain a single conviction of a blood thirsty killer.
