  • Potluck prejudice

    [Read the article: Poor America]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"We used to have a potluck culture in Minnesota -- the sharing of food as a way of life, you do your best for me, I do my best for you. But it easily breaks down: If some folks bring homemade pies and others bring a gallon of factory-made potato salad, forget it, the potluck is over."

I was invited to participate in the potluck once. I can't/won't cook but I was helpful when it came time to set up and then clean up. I also picked up some sushi from a very reputable restaurant. But no one could dare eat RAW FISH!! But these people didn't consider that this fish is undoubtedly much more sanitary than their foods made in the private no Sanitation Permit or Health Inspection required kitchens.

They are podunk hicks that can't see the big picture. Which is why they get factory made potato salad at the next potluck.

  • the polls are lying

[Read the article: Polls: Obama weathers Wright controversy ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

These "polls" have been unreliable since Iowa. Everyone needs to calm down. If your brackets aren't going well and the "polls" aren't in your candidates favor today or lan ;hour ago, it's okay. Pull out your favorite book, re read it then come back in a few days.

[Read the article: What is your literary deal breaker?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I would never say the guy is a genius but I am certainly entertained by the books. I wholly admit to reading a good deal of crap and loving it.

I would have to say that if all a man said he read was high brow literature I'd decide he was about as much fun as a bucket of lint.

Maybe the last book read wouldn't break the deal but a list of most recently read could.

"ALICE was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, "and what is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversations?" Tile :Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger

    This is lyrics from www.lyrics007.com

Risin' up, back on the street

Did my time, took my chances

Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet

Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast

You change your passion for glory

Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past

You must fight just to keep them alive

    Chorus:

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight

Risin' up to the challenge of our rival

And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night

And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

    or maybe it just did.

Maybe those uneducated hicks backing Hillary in PA will vote for him now. Hey Folks! Remember indoor smoking in the nineties?

I can't remember where so I can't properly site my source, but I remember reeading that a twenteen noticed that since the smoking ban started the night clubs smell like BO. Used to be the cigarette smoke covered it up.

  • Smokers vs fatties

[Read the article: Would you vote for a smoker?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Of the 21% that might not vote for a smoker because of the health risk, how many of those polled should probably lose 21% of their current weight due to health risks?

Of the percentage that should probably lose 21% of their weight, how many of those polled have tried several diets to try to lose the weight, i.e. got on and off the wagon?

Same question as above, insert "getting exercise"?

How many of those people come from the We're Were Not Going To Vote For Him Because He Thinks He's Better Than Us Crowd That Just Became The We're Not Voting For Him Because We're Better Than Anyone That Smokes Crowd?

  • Why are the Sixties facinating?

[Read the article: Through a bong, darkly]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because there a shit load of Baby Boomers that continue to facinate themselves. And will continue to be fasinated by themselves until they are all gone. Unless they freeze themselves to be defrosted later because they believe the future generations will also be fasinated with them.
