Original article: Two sides of the same coin?

Don't cha love. . .

the two sides to this story?

The attendees talk about W ranting and whining.

W twists it for public consumption to tell us yet again how decisive and "inspired" he is.

I was sickened, too

. . .by W's and Laura's appearance on the show.

What utter hypocrisy from the person who promised a bunch of money to Africa and is withholding that money.

But wait! It's not hypocrisy at all! He was thanking us for sending OUR money so that he doesn't have to.

Same goes for the American poor. I mean, our taxes are paying for a ridiculous war, so there's never anything left over for programs that need it. Good thing we donated!

Nancy for President!

I keep saying that whenever I see her on TV. I much prefer her to Hillary as our first female president.

Absolutely

Bring back The Fix. Anybody who doesn't like it can skip it.

The Fix was always my "dessert" after I'd read the heavier pieces and was ready from some lighter fare.

Barry Gibb

. . .has written thousands of songs, most of them great. And I'm not counting Staying Alive as one of the great ones. I like theme nights because it forces the contestants to sing a variety of songs. If they all got to choose their own songs, there'd be endless versions of the latest crap. Only a few people would watch.

What's the comment about this year's crop of contestants? Remember Taylor Hicks won last year. Taylor Hicks??? I would buy a Melinda Doolittle CD in a heartbeat.

Original article: The disconnect

It's the oil, stupid!

W might be under the delusion that he's the Savior of the Free World, but the rest of this administration (Cheney et al.) are in it for the oil.

That was the real rationale behind attacking Iraq (way before 9/11) and that's why they will not leave now. Leave and give up a chance at the oil fields? No way.

I have the sneaking suspicion that the Dems want the oil, too; hence the hemming and hawing.

Amen to the two posters above

I always laugh when I see the Home Depot commercials where four salespeople are helping one person. Ha!

The reality is, you have to chase these people down, and you're darn lucky if you can find somebody who's knowledgeable.

To me, Home Depot is a shopping nightmare.

Tony Snow

So adept at giving non-answers.

Incredible how he can babble on and on and never answer a question. Oh wait, that's why he's got this job.

I'm Boycotting

. . .the finale.

This is a repeat of last year: Taylor and Katherine. Two mediocre but pretty singers as the final two. Sorry, I can't take it anymore: I truly want the best SINGER to win. And Melinda is miles above the others as the best singer.

America's vote explains why people like Brittany Spears and Jessica Simpson are popular. Not very good singers, but boy, they apparently look great in tight clothes!

Before last night's show, I read a comment saying that America would vote off Melinda because of her small teeth. I'm afraid that's exactly what happened, and it really makes me sick.

On the other hand, I know that Melinda will have the last laugh. Look at Jennifer Hudson (my favorite that season): she's certainly having the last laugh.

You go, Melinda! And I won't be watching American Idol next week.

The big problem

What puzzles me is all the women who dream about/plan/actually have these huge, overblown weddings. They spend every waking moment planning the "perfect wedding" without giving a thought to the marriage. Some who I've talked to sounded like the wedding itself was the only thing they cared about: "their special day." What came afterwards was entirely secondary.

My wedding was at my house. I sewed my wedding dress (an unfortunate mistake -- but who cares?). My husband-to-be and I picked up the flowers and food platters the morning of the wedding and we were actually a little late (some of the guests had already arrived). However, we ALL had a blast!

Bottom line: I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man. The vehicle of making it legal played only a tiny role.

This is what I find most galling

"Within an hour, McKinnon replied:

Touche Joe.

Maybe someday in the future, we can break tortillas in New York City somewhere and reflect about all this."

So McKinnon wants to sit down for a pleasant meal and reflect about all of this? After W's policies have messed up the whole country -- the whole world?

What about the Katrina victims? What about the ever more numerous poor in this country? What about the dead U.S. soldiers, dead Iraqis, living Iraqis? They sure don't have the luxury of sitting down to a meal and reflecting.

Thank you, Mr. McKinnon. You've helped to give us so much! And now you want to reflect on it. Well, I hope you choke on your tortilla.

W sounds like

. . .he's still reading to third graders. And not very well.

Hey, English is my second language, and I'd NEVER make the grammatical errors he makes. But we've been through that ad nauseum.

"In other words," he's still our most powerful idiot.

Monday, June 4, 2007 09:14 AM

Here's what I find most egregious:

Never mind his first amendment rights, or whether or not he broke the military's rules.

Here's what bothers me: He served honorably (I presume) in the military and was given an honorable discharge. Now they want to change his discharge AFTER THE FACT.

That's what galls me: After the fact. You can fine him, throw him in jail, do whatever you think is necessary since he apparently broke a rule. But you can't change his discharge status if he served honorably.

The silence from this administration is deafening

. . .and it tells us all we need to know.

Cowardice II

Heck no, it's not cowardly to refuse to debate on FOX! It shows a surprising strength! Marginalize FOX. Marginalize them. They are one huge propoganda machine and I'm tired of being nice.

P.S. The CEO has lots of friends who are Democrats? Snort. Classic!
