Of course not

"Michael Steele just can't seem to stop the wave of bad publicity he's gotten lately"

Of course not! The RNC has buyer's remorse and is setting him up, IMO. Hence the "leak."

And if you're going to redecorate, adding an exercise machine is probably the least offensive thing you can do.

Obscene

"This is the former Vice President of the United States you're talking about; have you no decency?"

Yeah, and remember the cigar and the blue dress?

One thing we all know for sure

History will be re-written.

@StephanK

During the Eisenhower years, the tax rate on the rich WAS 91%. I don't know what the definition of rich was then, but I think we all agree $1 million is rich even by today's standards.

P.S. During Reagan's reign, the tax rate on the rich was 50%.

Gawd readerreader

. . .sure likes to make others read his long missives. They're pieces of crap and I stopped reading them long ago.

Wow, Tina Trent

You're a glass-half-empty kind of person, aren'tcha?

Friday, March 20, 2009 11:30 AM

Hasn't the Palin Camp pulled something like this before?

"My daughter is having her baby because she wants it, and she's getting married soon."

Friday, March 20, 2009 11:43 AM

Obviously

The reporter either was a cheerleader in high school, or wanted very, very much to be one.

Either way, blech!

Original article: Obama's new message to Iran

Finally!

Someone who has enough heart and brains to offer peace.

"Peace" has been a dirty word for the last eight years -- and that with the Christian Fundamentalists in power, no less.

I am so sick of the Bush/Cheney bullies, and all of the Americans who think that's the "cool" way to act.

Monday, March 23, 2009 10:39 AM

@something stinks

"What kind of fool do you take us for?

(we elected Bush twice)"

THAT'S the kind of fool I take you for. Fool.

60 minutes

As I was watching 60 minutes last night and Obama's response to Cheney, I thought, "This is exactly what I'm thinking but I'm not coherent enough to spit out the words."

Saying that W kept us safe for 7 1/2 years is moronic. He allowed the U.S. to be invaded because he was too busy focusing on Iraq. He allowed 9/11 to happen despite warnings from outgoing Clinton staff, security memos, etc. He was too busy golfing. And thinking about Iraq and doing his daddy one better.

So what's his response to 9/11? Attacking a country that had nothing, nada, zilch to do with it. Taking away our civil liberties at the same time. Invading Iraq under false pretenses. Putting this country into huge debt for NOTHING. And torturing to make everybody hate us even more.

Good job, W. Good job, Dickhead Cheney. Keep talking, Mr. Evil. Luckily, Obama can answer you way better than I can.

Sigh

"one group of people have life and death control over another for no particular reason other than their own conveniences and, in that case, prejudices."

For no particular reason other than that they're pregnant.

Sigh.

If men could have babies. . .

What a joke

"Anywhere you can read from the teleprompter!!

This is where the fraud Obama will be found giving his Hitleresque spin lines to the drone populus.

-- libertyaintfree"

I'm not fond of name-calling other letter writers, but libertyaintfree: you're a joke.

It's called democracy, Harry

You know, people voicing their opinions and hoping they'll be heard.

Good to know that you flat-out say you're not listening.

Take the money/don't take the money

I'm sure Republicans think that's hunky-dory, but to regular folks, he's "Big Talk No Underwear."

I mean really, what Repug has ever turned down money?

Saturday, April 4, 2009 07:52 AM

@Miss Butterfly

So, you think torture is a distraction. Hmmm. What does that say about you?

Monday, April 6, 2009 10:29 AM

OMG

She did it again. I can't believe the crap that comes out of this woman's mouth!

I'm from Minnesota, but thankfully not from Religious Crazy Person's district.

Tuesday, April 7, 2009 11:10 AM

Wow

Even little old ladies act like jerks, when they're Republican.

Thursday, April 9, 2009 11:27 AM

Karl Rove = Makin' it up as he goes along

"Mr. Obama has hastened the decline of Republican support with petty attacks on his critics and predecessor."

So you spend 8 long years ruining this country, and then you don't want your sucessor to say anything bad about you?

You leave the country in the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression, and then you have the nerve to talk about "petty attacks" when Obama points out that the Repugs created this mess?

Spin and lie some more Karl. We're waiting with bated breath.

Thursday, April 9, 2009 11:42 AM

Soviet Russia was NOT socialist

Just because it was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics does not mean it was socialist. Never was. It was a perverted form of Communism where a group of dictators decided that the government owned everything.

The German Democractic Republic wasn't a democracy.

The National Socialistic Party (Nazi Party) was not socialist.

So don't fall for names. After all, members of Congress are called Honorable, and how many of them really are?

Thursday, April 9, 2009 11:49 AM

@rfdz33

What mental illness is it that makes Repugs call others on their own faults and transgressions?

"Child-bully." Gee, wasn't that W?

Friday, April 10, 2009 06:09 AM

Pottery Barn rule

Remember, Colin Powell warned us: You break it, it's yours.

Iraq is now ours. We're responsible for invading a sovereign country and bombing the daylights out of it.

Now we're responsible to fixing the mess we made. Pretty simple.

(By the way, I have been against this damned war from the very beginning.)

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 09:20 AM

@Jeannette

"And I thought Pawlenty, for a Republican, might have had promise. Fat chance, the Republicans always prove me wrong."

Pawlenty looks so benign and is anything but. He's vetoed stuff for the poor and children that would make your head spin. His "no new taxes" pledge has gotten absurd. I now pay more in property taxes than ever -- way, way more -- because the City of Minneapolis has to get money from somewhere and Pawlenty ain't providing it.

He is cold-blooded and not in a good way. Don't let his face fool you.

The one silver lining

in this dark cloud is this:

Last night, in addition to ruling that Franken won, the MN court ruled that Coleman has to pay all of Franken's legal fees. And if the Coleman team is taking a week to file a Notice of Appeal, they're going to be racking up many more legal fees than they already have.

Of course, Coleman won't end up paying, the Repug Party will. But that's o.k. with me.
