You're not even TRYING to be rational anymore.
O.k, then, let's play your game:
Republicans, Bushites, Neocons, here are the people you remind me of: Hitler and his friendly gang of SS Soldaten, Stalin and his gulags; and W personally: any banana republic blowhard dictator.
Happy now, Joe?
"Bush said that the 'ultimate accountability' rests with him, but then suggested that the time for such talk has come and gone. 'That's what the 2004 campaign was about,' he said."
Oh. My. GAWD. So, accountability only counts when W's re-election is at stake? And now that he can't run for re-election, he really doesn't care about the war that much, does he? He's already told the press that pulling out of Iraq would happen after 2008 and then it would be someone else's problem.
So, he doesn't care about American lives lost (never mind Iraqi lives lost -- you can pretend you want give them freedom, but who cares if they die from it?). He doesn't care about the cost in dollars (our children will be paying the price), nor the cost in prestige (we're all paying the price right now and for a long, long time to come).
W: one big SOB who's just said so on national television.
Meffert:
Add an "s" and capitalize it, and you'll have a real German word. (All nouns are capitalized in German.)
I'm from Minneapolis and I voted for Keith Ellison. I was so happy when he won the primary. After that, it was pretty clear he would win the election (my district is primarily Liberal, I'm happy to say).
I voted for Keith because he's the kind of person I want to represent me. He cares about the things that are important (health insurance for all, the environment, etc.). I'm totally excited that he'll be representing me in D.C. The fact that he's black and a Muslim is just icing on the cake, in my view.
Ebonius got it just right.
"Laura and I are sustained by the prayers of millions of people," Bush told Hume. "Now that's hard for some to -- I guess chew on."
He's just throwing that out for the Christian Right, as in "I'm so special, millions of people of praying for me. And the bad Left can't understand that because they're bad."
This man wouldn't know what a Christian was if it hit him in the face. He certainly isn't one.
Oh yes, Mr. Resident. It helps a lot. It shows us what kind of a person you are.
Now take the logical next step: "Why is is bad in Iraq?" Could it possibly be your fault? You wanted this unnecessary war. You had no plan except "Shock and Awe" and after that it would be flowers for all the soldiers.
"It's bad in Iraq." Do you have any idea what that means for the soldiers and their families, and for all the Iraqis?
You are one glib and snotty SOB. But of course, we already knew that in 2000.
. . .can't decide.
They're like spoiled brats who broke their toy and now want to pretend it didn't happen.
The Decider can't decide and the Puppet Master wants to cut the strings.
Bill, if you were a little more educated (I'm asking the near impossible), you would know that.
It reminds me of a woman I once worked with who fought me tooth and nail for putting "Xmas" on a banner instead of Christmas. "X" stood for Satan, according to her. Of course, X was the Greek symbol for Christ; but I couldn't make her believe me.
Ah, the stubborness of those wishing to believe absolutely the worst at all times. . .
Happy Holidays, everyone!
is not sexy enough, nor macho enough, for our Great Decider.
O.k., I may be thinking a little too simplistically here, but let me get this straight:
Iraq had a bad, bad dictator and we had to invade his country to get rid of this bad dictator and help his people. (Well, we invaded because he had WMD ready to strike us down; later, we decided it was to help his people.)
After we invaded, and fought, and fought, and executed the bad dictator, "All of the bad guys in the Middle East are in Iraq."
So I think we failed miserably, didn't we????
How are 20,000 more troops ready to fight, and fight, and fight going to help this situation?
Once again, my logic might be too simplistic.
. . .and all the King's men couldn't put Humpty together again.
Let's face it: We f'ed up big time. I and many people were against this war from the get-go. Am I feeling smug and righteous now that we've made a big mess? How could I, with all the Iraqi and Americans dead? I feel sick.
Joe, get a grip. The U.S. needs to work behind the scenes, diplomatically, and get the hell out of there once we've involved other (Arab) countries. The whole country could be behind this war, and we still couldn't put Humpty together again.
. . .only it's a rubber sword.
"I did it! I did it! I'm the one who accidentally leaked the name. Only now you can't do anything because I have immunity."
Call me cynical.
"Why...doesn't he run? . . .
Here's why, because it's easy to stand on the side and throw out an opinion from time to time."
You do see the irony of that statement, don't you? I mean, exactly what have you done for this country? But you sure love to throw out your opinion at every opportunity.
