I was watching the news this a.m. -- local FOX channel -- and the reporter from D.C., Doug Luzader (sp?) said that Dems were going to make the bailout process more complicated and they would slow it down because they wanted to add oversight provisions.

I was laughing to myself and thinking, "Is that a bad thing?"

I love the way the media presents stories. The Repugs want to hand over $700 billion (and who thinks it won't be way more than that) with no oversight. The Dems are called the bad guys because they want some accountability.

Taxpayers, please pay attention!

The fact that he's the second-"poorest" Senator should be a badge of honor. I mean, these wealthy politicians were either born into money, or they used their position to gather wealth.

Neither one of those options is exactly admirable.

-The U.S. will be attacked using passenger planes because the president was too busy taking vacations and planning a war on Iraq to focus on Osama bin Laden -- despite warnings by the outgoing Clinton administration that he was dangerous.

-Based on lies, the U.S. will attack a sovereign nation. The war was promised to be short, but we will still be in Iraq at the end of the president's second term.

-For the first time in history, the U.S. will condone torture. It will set up a special prison where habeus corpus doesn't exist. It will secretly send prisoners to other countries to be tortured.

-The Administration will break numerous laws and then quickly write new laws allowing its lawlessness.

-Civil liberties and privacy will fly out the window, as people will be spied on, have their phones tapped, and be detained at the whim of the government.

-With all of the above going on, most people in the U.S. will be concerned about Britney Spears shaving her head and losing custody of her children.
