@ EMStoveken
[Read the article: Bush's to-do list: Pack galoshes, thwart Congress]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Exactly right!
It's not playing dirty when you're simply pointing out W's hypocricy and his continuing to make his rich buddies richer and the rest of us poorer.
Why don't the dems get that?
-
Just a small taste
[Read the article: Clinton, McCain and the B-word]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .of what's to come.
-
"first responded"
[Read the article: McCain raising funds off of "B-word" incident]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Facts. Never let them get in the way of a good spin.
-
For the past six years
[Read the article: "Radical groups"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .anyone who mentioned the word "peace" has been considered a radical by this administration.
So I'm a proud RADICAL old lady!
-
She's been. . .
[Read the article: What -- or who -- ended Rachel Paulose's stint as U.S. attorney?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]kicked upstairs.
This administration's little reward for being so loyal. Competent, not so much. But hey, loyalty is everything, right?
-
"All we are saying. . ."
[Read the article: Various items]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]After reading this, I've been humming the Beatles tune all afternoon. And then the absurdity hit me:
"All we are saying is give killing a chance."
"All we are saying is give blowing up civilians a chance."
"All we are saying is give torturing brown men a chance."
"All we are saying is. . .up is down, lies are facts, Republicans are right in all situations no matter what, and Democrats are wrong in all situations no matter what."
WTF????
-
The Republican Party:
[Read the article: Libby drops appeal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"We take care of our own.
Accountability? That's for everyone else."
-
Every single one of the Republican candidates
[Read the article: Who's afraid of the big bad Huck?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .is scary as all get-out. Each in their own ways. Each in the same way.
-
Let's face it
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Republican stance has always been "less taxes." That, of course, means less taxes for millionaires. The middle and lower classes get to bear the brunt.
W has been more blatant about it than most (I think).
In spite of all that, blue collar workers are still voting Republican. Why is that?
-
Saudis
[Read the article: Saudi king spares rape victim]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]With cosy allies like this, who needs enemies?
-
This just makes me sick.
[Read the article: Did waterboarding really work on Abu Zubaydah?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sick. Sick. Sick.
-
@bignose
[Read the article: Congressional Dems concede SCHIP fight]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Where is the media onslaught from the left?"
LOL. What media on the left?
Elephantman, where are you? I need you to give us your enormous list of the liberal media.
LOL.
-
Deal breaker
[Read the article: Our new friend is a racist -- should we dump him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've encountered this situation many times in my life: I meet somebody I really like, we get along, we start becoming good friends. Then he/she says something racist and I just sigh.
I drop them like a hot potato.
-
"I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race."
[Read the article: Abramoff scandal claims another casualty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wow. The things we tell ourselves to justify our actions.
-
@ Anonymous 7:59 a.m.
[Read the article: Freezing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"And as long as he doesn't break the law, there's nothing anyone could do."
How many laws has this guy and his administration broken? And what are the grand things we're doing about it????
Do you remember "L'etat c'est moi"? That's W in essence. He doesn't give a crap about law. He's proved that many times.
-
Yeah, I didn't get that either.
[Read the article: Snow falls, Romney's hopes rise]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What Democrats would vote for John McCain?
-
@ Green Job
[Read the article: And 61 percent voted against Romney]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"I don't think this bodes well for the GOP."
If only.
Well, we can hope. I've become a huge pessimist in the last seven years.
-
Edwards
[Read the article: A not-so-super Tuesday?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yeah, I'm still hoping Edwards will get the nomination.
I don't want to bring up the "electability" issue. In 2004, Kerry was the "electable" one and look what happened. (I voted for Edwards in the primary, but Kerry won my state.)
I just think Edwards has the best stance on the issues. I don't understand why more people aren't voting for him. All those lower and middle class people should be clamoring for him. Instead, he's always way behind.
What gives? Is it just the media circus?
I can't believe people will be swayed by the media, when they should have their own interests -- and the interests of the country and the world -- at heart. But once again, look what happened in 2004 (and 2000).
-
Obama and H Clinton
[Read the article: Edwards bows out, but stays on message on the way]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Both are Republican-lite.
Sigh. I too wish JE had waited until after Super Tuesday before withdrawing. I wanted a chance to cast my vote for the person I truly believed in (since Kucinich was no longer an option).
The good news: At least our candidates aren't named McCain, Romney, or Huckabee. That means I can sleep at night.
-
The perfect guy. . .
[Read the article: Karl Rove and Fox News, (officially) together at last]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .to be on Faux News, don'tcha think?
-
Aw c'mon
[Read the article: Team Clinton: Obama's now the establishment candidate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"By racking up big endorsements recently, Barack Obama has started to run an "increasingly establishment-oriented campaign," and voters have rejected him for that reason, turning to Clinton instead."
That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. C'mon, we can all smell the B.S. here!
-
I've said it before
[Read the article: Can't work for them, can't sue them]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]and I'll say it again:
Why do all the truly stupid remarks come from ANONYMOUS?
-
What drives me wild
[Read the article: A note about War Room's reader comments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . .is the fact that when posters start resorting to name calling ("You moron." "Right back atcha." "That's just stupid." "No, you're the stupid one."), THERE'S NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE THERE.
I love to read the letters to see how people are feeling about an issue and also to pick up info I wouldn't otherwise get. Sarcasm is fine. Witty remarks are fine. Thoughtful remarks are the best. But name-calling is a huge waste of time.
Sure, I get mad at some people's opinions. But my response needs to be factual and reasonable. Anything else and you've just got an empty nastiness. Life's too short for that, people!
-
Heeheehee
[Read the article: National Journal's ideological ranking of Obama rears its ugly head]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]How in heck do you quote somebody in Teflon?
That cracked me up!
-
Wow
[Read the article: McCain on contraception [12-second pause]]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wow, that's quite a list. Thank you, Salon!
This list should come in handy during the upcoming campaign.
Vedddddddy interesting!
-
I don't know. . .
[Read the article: TV Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Every letter here has been very negative. While I don't discount your views, I watched the show and I enjoyed it.
It's better than "Big Brother" and a lot of other reality crap. (I call it crap, but I watch a lot anyway because I love to see how people will react in certain situations. Sometimes more interesting than anything a writer can come up with.)
On the con side, we have Oprah's big ego; we have contestants supposedly altruistic, but really just doing it for the fame and/or money; we have greedy corporate sponsors.
On the pro side, we have people being helped. However well or not so well the contestants help these people in need, a small number of needy people are being helped.
Sorry, but that's good enough for me and I enjoyed it.

What I find hilarious
[Read the article: Cheney calls Iraq invasion a "successful endeavor"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You know old Dick didn't come to Iraq to have a look around and report on the war.
You know his mission -- BEFORE HE EVEN LEFT THE U.S. -- was to declare success.
So why bother going in the first place? Is he fooling anybody anymore?
