Not a bad movie
[Read the article: "10,000 BC"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Just watched it today. Entertaining but nothing close to the scale and power of a movie like the Lord of the Rings.

McCain and the Israel Lobby
[Read the article: Bomb, bomb Iran?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If McCain wins, it looks likely that he will be pursuing Middle East policies dictated by the Israel Lobby (i.e. we are likely to see Bush's policies continue). The sight of "Mr. Lobby" Lieberman at his side does not bode well for the future of American policies in the Middle East.
The bottom line is more needless wars fought under false pretenses.

Isn't amazing
[Read the article: Bomb, bomb Iran?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]how McCain has totally ignored the National Intelligence Estimate on Iran which stated that Iran had no active nuclear weapons program! He seems to have wholeheartedly adapted the position pushed by the Israel Lobby that the Iranian bomb is a clear and present danger TO THE US! Give me a break!
I guess the real question is how many wars would the US be deceived into fighting to allow Israel- one of the world's most powerful nuclear states which continues to occupy and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians - to dominate the Middle East?
The answer is until the rest of us - including the gutless politicians - stand up to the powerful Israel Lobby. Sadly I don't see this happening anytime soon due to the Lobby's control of MSM. Long live the internet!

It is what happened after 9/11 that is the problem
[Read the article: Rev. Jeremiah Wright isn't the problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Certainly nothing can justify the senseless murder of thousands, but the problem is not what the US did prior to 9/11 (notwithstanding the support for the state terrorism practiced by Israel and South Africa, as Rev. Wright said in one of his sermons). The problem is Bush's policies after 9/11. which squandered the world's sympathy for the US and gave terrorists more recruits and causes!

Let's face it: The neocons were NOT working for the national interests of the US
[Read the article: Taking stock of the war on terror]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As part of the Israel Lobby, the neocons were clearly working for Israeli interests. Their 3-pronged scam (weapons of mass destruction, the link between Saddam and Al-qaeda and spreading democracy in the Middle East) was designed to sell the Iraq war to a super-patriotic and frightened American public by appealing to a combination of American fear of terrorism post 9/11 and American idealism.
"Maintaining US support for Israel’s policies against the Palestinians is essential as far as the Lobby is concerned, but its ambitions do not stop there. It also wants America to help Israel remain the dominant regional power. The Israeli government and pro-Israel groups in the United States have worked together to shape the administration’s policy towards Iraq, Syria and Iran, as well as its grand scheme for reordering the Middle East.
Pressure from Israel and the Lobby was not the only factor behind the decision to attack Iraq in March 2003, but it was critical."

Iraq war more misguided than Vietnam
[Read the article: McCain's Vietnam obsession]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As misguided as the Vietnam war was, its supporters could at least sincerely argue that it was an attempt to stop the spread of communism and curb the influence of the Soviet Union. The reasons given for the Iraq war (WMD, Saddam-Alqaeda links and democracy), on the other hand, were clearly deceptive. It is a shame that a true patriot like McCain seems unable to see this.

Israeli Government = the real Neo-Nazis
[Read the article: Israel's Nazi-porn problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Israel practices collective punishment on 1.5 million people in Gaza who have run out of medicine and drinking water. By blockading, starving and killing these people on a daily basis, Israel is bringing about the Holocaust that Matan Vilnai, Israel's deputy defense minister, threatened the Palestinians with.

The silence of the MSM is deafening.

Investigate the Neocons
[Read the article: Would Obama investigate the Bush gang?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Would whoever wins the election investigate the links most of the leading neocons have to Israel (and specifically to the fascist Likud party)? The death of over 4000 American soldiers and the maiming and death of countless Iraqis are sufficient cause to investigate. After all, the neocons knew they were selling the Iraq war to an outraged and scared American public under false pretenses.

Commandment XI - Cut the Israel Lobby Down to Size
[Read the article: Iraq: The ten commandments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Let's face it: For as long as the Israel Lobby controls America's Middle Eastern policy and exerts undue influence over media coverage of the Middle East, none of the other commandments are going to work.
The humiliating reception Jimmy Carter received recently by Israeli leaders (who snubbed him and prevented him from visiting Gaza for fear he could be witness to the Israeli war crimes there) is but one example of how well-meaning American efforts for peace would be distorted by Lobby-influenced MSM.
On second thought, this may be simply a corollary to Commandment VI "Do not allow neoconservatives anywhere near Middle East policy."

Jump starting the market
[Read the article: The technology that will save humanity]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"One such policy is a so-called national renewable portfolio standard, which would require utilities to get a minimum percentage of their electricity from new renewable forms of power, or purchase such power from other utilities. After that, the typical manufacturing learning curves and economies of scale -- plus a market price for carbon dioxide set by the cap-and-trade system -- should do the rest."
Amen. This is long overdue.

The problem with the ten commandments is...
[Read the article: Iraq: The ten commandments]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]whoever wants to implement them would have to stand up to the Israel Lobby. There is probably no politician (not even Obama) capable of this given the Lobby's power and undue influence over much of the MSM.
On a different topic, Benjamin Netanyahu, the leader of the fascist Likud party in Israel, has declared that "9/11 terror attacks good for Israel" http://haaretz.com/hasen/spages/975574.html. Expect to hear nothing from the MSM!
