This article serves the purpose of shining some light on a thoroughly despicable practice.
There are millions of animal lovers who do not begrudge wolves a meal in order to survive. Nature has had a way of balancing things for a very long time and has never needed the interference of a nitwit to make things right.
I think that a poster with a picture of the wolf/airplane, the $150 reward offer, her picture, and the request for a paw, would be more effective than anyone could imagine.
Methinks Ms. Paglia has reached the end of the road.
She says, "If Sarah Palin tries to intrude her Conservative Christian values into secular government, then she must be opposed and stopped".
This is a woman whose nomination has been cheered, and soundly endorsed by Limbaugh, Hannity, Dobson, Kristol, and Rove. They know exactly where she stands on all of the issues and we know exactly where they stand.
To affect a wait and see attitude on the G.O.P. ticket is ludacris and Ms. Paglia has lost all credibility on the subject.
The author mentions Republicans dumbing the electorate. That isn't necessary because the electorate is already dumb. Republicans simply pander to emotions that can be translated into millions of votes.
The pro-life voters will vote for anybody who shares their beliefs. It doesn't mater if the candidate is competent or simply mouths empty platitudes and would do real harm in other areas. Our President is a perfect example of religion triumphing over common sense.
I see the same thing happening again, they demean, discredit, and attack Obama without debating issues. Add in the people who will not vote for a black man, and they have a very real chance to win, despite offering more of the unpalatable same.
A treat to read.
Enough about the vice presidential nominee. Perhaps while mushing thru the tundra she will meet a number of hungry wolves who have lost loved ones to her $150 a foreleg air plane slaughter offer.
It has become increasing clear what the Republican Party has been doing under the leadership of "The Architect", Karl Rove.
Republicans simply present anything as fact and keep repeating it over and over until it is accepted as truth by a large percentage of the electorate. For example, "He has weapons of mass destruction and he has used them on his own people". This mantra was delivered by every member of the administration including Colin Powell, an honorable man, who was hung out to dry at the U.N.
The Republicans are experts in mass psychology and realized that Americans are so dumb it doesn't mater what you say as long as you keep repeating it.
In the debate last night, Gov. Palin answered any question she was uncomfortable with by using one of her talking points which were on the lectern in front of her. When asked what her 'Achilles Heel' would be as Vice President she started describing her strengths.
She received rave reviews from the professional liars at Fox and generally favorable comments across the board with very few people noticing her duplicity. A large number of people thought she won the debate. It is frightening how gullible the American people are and it explains how this President won two terms. Of course we can't forget to thank the millions of pro-lifers who put a religious belief over the general welfare of the entire country and the stability of the rest of the world.
Much has been said and been written about Sen. McCain's experience as a captive and prisoner of war. He was seriously injured and endured five years under the harshest of conditions.
I maintain that we, the electorate, have no way of knowing what psychological scars he may be carrying. No one can undergo long periods of torture and deprivation and emerge unscathed.
I believe that there are too many unanswered questions. It's alright to be a Senator but the President controls our entire arsenal and I want someone in charge who has a healthy not horrific psychological profile.
Nothing has been mentioned about Sen. McCain's mental health. He endured five years of imprisonment, torture, and deprivation. No one can emerge unscathed from that kind of experience.
He was a genuine hero, but maybe he has nightmares or flashbacks. Supposedly, he has quite a temper. I would think long and hard before putting either him or his running mate in charge of our massive arsenal.
What can you say about a guy who's test scores were 150 pts. lower than the median for entrance to his university. I guess it helped that his father and grandfather were both graduates and his grandfather Prescott Bush, was a member of the board of trustees, and a financial contributor.
While a director of a bank, W somehow got a $500,000 loan and bought shares in the Texas Rangers. When the team was later sold he received about $14,000,000 without putting up any of his own money.
Everyone knows the rest of the story, the 'Compassionate Conservative', and what he has done to his party and his country. The unnecessary massive loss of lives, loss of respect, and leadership.
It is a sad and dark chapter in our history and I don't see anything comical about it.
This is an extremely important election. Because of the last eight years we are at a critical juncture where we can fall off the cliff or start to slowly and painfully make a recovery.
Enter Joe Lieberman, a guy who muddies the waters and confuses the issues for an undisclosed number of voters.
His perfidity is so great that Democrats should have nothing to do with him even if it is costly. His smiling face on the stage with McCain and Palin says it all. His defection to the Republican ticket must not go unanswered.
