Way to be a stupid right-winger nutjob, bro!
The initiative process in California has been usurped by out-of-state special interests to try and trick inattentive citizens into voting in the most Draconian, intrusive measures possible that would have no chance of passing in the Legislature, once any real analysis was done.
For example: Proposition 8, whose main funding comes from the Knights of Columbus, the American Family Association and the Mormons; LDS elders have ordered the Mormons to give basically all of their discretionary income to Yes on 8, and the members of this cult are dutifully complying. This, despite the fact that the State has only asserted full equality for same-sex couples in CIVIL marriage; the churches can discriminate as much as they want (the commercials claiming otherwise are LIES). And this, despite the fact that no RATIONAL person can explain how marriage between gays and lesbians impacts "straight" marriage in any way; all arguments end up citing Biblical dogma or some vague "tradition" argument, which does NOT stand up in civil law (otherwise we'd still have slavery, women as non-voting chattel, polygamy, no marriage between the races, etc.).
No on Hate-- No on 8.
Maya Soetoro-Ng and Barack Obama represent the hopeful future of this nation, one where race and tribal affiliation matter less and less. She exudes class and laser-beam intelligence. She does have that same thoughtful communicative style that her brother has-- deliberative cadence, careful choice of words. The love and protectiveness they show toward each other is remarkable.
I'm struck by how much Maya looks like their mother, actually. The same way I'm struck that Barack looks so much like his mother's father-- sure, darker complexion, but from many angles he's the spitting image of his grandfather.
When remarking about her voice-- low and honey-toned--, the one thing the reporter left out is her strong Hawaiian accent. That, and her calm demeanor, give her a laid-back quality that-- again-- she shares with her brother. Some mistake that for complacency and weakness; I consider it a sign of quiet intensity. I'll take that over whiny bluster and stupid bleating of talking points any day.
Most of the stable of Faux News' pundits/hosts/shouters are college dropouts or graduates of very low-tier regional schools.
Glenn Beck, if I recall correctly, has a GED.
And hemmorhoids.
Which, based on how far up his ass his head is, qualify as inoperable brain tumors. Poor schmuck.
And I hear them always say that junk-toting stick figure (M)Ann Coulter has a law degree. Has she ever practiced law? Has she ever passed a bar exam (other than an ID check at the singles bar)? Would you hire that horse-faced succubus as your legal counsel?
Bomb-throwing retarded failures with ego problems, I'd say.
And, judging by the few defenders in this letter thread, representative of the ignorance of their fans.
Laurel962: You are a bigot and a pig. Pure and simple.
You have no notion of anything but your narrow, Christianist view of the world. Guess what? Thanks to your hate-filled views, REAL people suffer. People like my neighbor, who just lost her partner of 7 years and has to stand by and watch the deceased's family descend upon their house and take everything they want, as she doesn't have the protection of a marriage license thanks to the votes of scum like YOU.
RE: Portia: GREAT video. Way to make those Yes on H8 people look like the assholes they are!
