Good lord, the collective IQ of the readership of Salon.com has sunk like lead in Jello over the last couple of years...!
What a bunch of bullshit.
Granted, the United States has sunk so low in this department, why shouldn't even its better media outlets fall victim to the same anti-intelligence and anti-truth movement that has turned this country to shit?
And now we have been introduced to its vacuous, Botoxed queen.
I just don't see the red-meat pro-security forces feeling good about pert, perky Mrs. Beehive, no matter how many caribou she shoots, guts and grills on TV for the media sheep.
And sorry, but Joe Biden (whose own son is being deployed to Iraq soon-- from his job as Delaware Attorney General, isn't it?) will indeed eviscerate her in a fair debate. I don't know that the American people could be so stupid as to pity her if her ignorance is brought out in stark relief.
And yes, it IS delusional to think that her "experience" stands up to Obama's (who is, for the last time you fucking morons, NOT a Muslim). I'll go for the guy who has the broad résumé of president of Harvard Law Review, community organizer, state legislator and US Senator. I'll go for the one who has the gravitas to draw the world's respect instead of its scorn and derision.
Once the dust of the novelty passes, and the distracting froth of the scrambling right-wing pundits rushing to praise this empty suit, the desperation and pure tokenism of this choice will resonate with voters who weren't already in one or the other camp. Palin doesn't add new votes to the team, and her scandal(s) won't just go away, despite the best efforts of her fans up in Alaska or Karl "Fat Fuck" Rove.
And if the American people DO go for this, well, that's what the stupid American people deserve. And our slide into Banana Republic third-world status will be greased and sped along that much more quickly.
"Make shit up. Lie your ass off. Americans are too stupid to care."
That's the low esteem they hold the American people in.
And I, for one, am sick of it.
Won't work this time, Grampy. Sorry.
Yeah, BARB, I'm talking to YOU, you idiot PUMA.
Just SHUT UP and GO AWAY.
Your stupidity betrays you-- you're a Republican pretending to have supported Hillary Clinton. A woman who would NEVER deign to stoop for the vote of a complete and utter moron such as you.
So just fuck off to your hovel under the bridge, you mentally deficient troll.
Labels count for a lot. Don't you follow Constitutional law? Brown v. Board of Education in 1954 established that "Separate but Equal" is inherently unequal-- the very act of setting up separate categories for a minority group defines the new categories as lesser and unequal and in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment (Rights Guaranteed Privileges and Immunities of Citizenship, Due Process and Equal Protection).
The California Supreme Court used that decision as well as Loving v. State of Virginia (1967) to correctly arrive at the only possible decision they could. There is no LEGAL, CONSTITUTIONAL reason to deny same-sex couples the rights and responsibilities of marriage (tradition, Biblical law and the delicate sensitivities of fundamentalist Christians who get skeeved out by those icky homos [eeeeewwww!!] are not valid rationale). Therefore, setting up a separate category called "civil union" to bestow those legal rights and responsibilities on same-sex couples is simply an act to reserve marriage for straight couples. That establishes "civil union" as inherently unequal and lesser vis-à-vis marriage-- and make no mistake, laws or no laws, it IS a lesser category. That is discrimination. Which is against the California Constitution. Therefore, Proposition 22 was vacated and same-sex marriage was deemed perfectly legal.
Let's repeat it. Societal traditions and Judeo-Christian rules against homosexuality cannot be used to settle Constitutional law. Sorry. Allowing same-sex couples to marry doesn't cheapen marriage. It doesn't confuse kids at all, and it won't turn them into Teh Gay. Preachers can continue to condemn those icky homos (eeeeewwwww!) from the pulpit, and people will still continue to ignore their hate. The sky hasn't fallen, has it? And I just married my same-sex partner of 5 1/2 years a week and a half ago.
We're MARRIED. And you and your right-wing friends and that asshat David Blankenhorn can't do a damn thing about it. And we won't threaten your precious marriage-- which I would guess has plenty of other problems in it if this is so threatening....
How appropriate your name is! Since you obviously have muy poco intelligence.
The "CRA caused this" meme has been floated by you right-wingers for at least a week now, and it's not getting traction. That's because people recognize it for what it REALLY says:
"It's Carter's fault for pushing banks to let TEH DARKIES buy houses!! The whole world goes to Hell if you do anything to level the playing field for TEH DARKIES!! Only TEH WHITES should be allowed to hold property/vote/etc.!! And don't get me started on TEH GAYS!!
"Oh yeah-- DUH!!"
Racist pigs. We see through your code. EPIC FAIL.
Emphasis on "desperate".
It's kinda cute how these Republican idiots stick to their lovingly-memorized talking points (eg. Sean Hannity), even after being told their talking points are out-and-out lies, isn't it?
"OBAMA WILL RAISE YOUR TAXES!!"
"Er no, Senator McCain, that's actually a lie."
"Oh. OBAMA WILL RAISE YOUR TAXES!!"
"That's a lie, Senator. An untruth. It's the OPPOSITE of the truth."
"Oh. OBAMA WILL RAISE YOUR TAXES!!"
Goebbels and Rove in action. How comical!
